Students of the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 13-2026 conducted a camp visit at the 5th Infantry โ€œStarโ€ Division as part of their 45-day training under the supervision of the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army.

The students visited the Rangers Park, SF Park, IP Village, Tala Park, and the 5ID Museum. The 5ID also partnered with the 5th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, which served as curator and provided the students with insights into the history and significance of the different landmarks and attractions within the camp. They were also introduced to the Armyโ€™s various capabilities through a presentation of military equipment and other assets.

The camp visit forms part of their exposure and familiarization activities before they undergo various exercises at the 5th Division Training School (5DTS). The activity aims to broaden their understanding of the Philippine Army, strengthen their appreciation of military service, and prepare them for the succeeding phases of their BCMT.

Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela โ€“ The 1st Cavalry Company (Separate), Armor Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of CPT DAYANARA CES S AO-WAT-BERIร‘A (ARM) PA, Commanding Officer, underwent an inventory of its unit properties and equipment at the Unit Headquarters.

The inventory was conducted by the 1st Financial and Property Accountability Office (1FPAO) under the supervision of Ms. Gloria T. Agapito, Chief, 1FPAO, APAO, as part of the Philippine Army's continuing efforts to strengthen financial and property accountability and ensure the proper recording, documentation, and accounting of government property issued to and held by the unit.

The activity included the verification and physical accounting of accountable properties and facilities to ensure that issued assets are properly recorded, accounted for, and under the custody of the responsible personnel. It also provided an opportunity to identify and document any discrepancies in the records and actual property on hand for appropriate action.

The inventory reflects the unit's continuing commitment to accountability, transparency, and responsible management of government property.

The Army Chief concluded by thanking Pambato Troopers for their steadfast service. "A strong Armor Division contributes to a strong Philippine Army, and a strong Philippine Army contributes to a strong nation.โ€

Gumiran PA, Commanding General of the Philippine Army and his party visited the Home of the Mounted Warriors on 22 August 2026. Upon arrival, Lt. Gen. Gumiran was accorded full military honors and received by Armor Division Commander Major General Ronnel R. Manalo PA. The visit included an operational briefing and a "Talk to Troops" with division personnel.

In his remarks, the Commanding General laid out his STRONG Command Guidance, a six-point framework which stands for: Stewardship, Transformation, Readiness, Organization Development, Nation-Building, and God-Centered Leadership / Fear of God.

The Commanding General also toured the Armor Division Museum and Maintenance Facility. There, Lt. Gen. Gumiran tested and fired the Remote-Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) mounted on an armored vehicle โ€” demonstrating the unitโ€™s advanced capabilities and operational readiness.

The visit closed with a traditional Boodle Fight, strengthening camaraderie, esprit de corps, and unity among officers, enlisted personnel, and the Army leadership. The occasion reaffirmed the Philippine Armyโ€™s shared commitment to exemplary leadership, combat readiness, professionalism, and dedicated service to the Filipino people.

Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela โ€“ The 1st Cavalry Company (Separate), Armor Division, Philippine Army, led by CPT DAYANARA CES S AO-WAT-BERIร‘A (ARM) PA, Commanding Officer, participated in the 11-day Combined Arms Brigade Exercise (CABEX) 2026 of the 502nd Infantry Brigade, 5th Infantry โ€œStarโ€ Division, Philippine Army which culminated on 21 August 2026.

The exercise aimed to enhance the interoperability, coordination, and operational readiness of participating units in preparation for Territorial Defense Operations (TDO) through the integration of the various arms and capabilities of the Philippine Army, in coordination with the Philippine Air Force and Reserve Force.

The Rapido Troops supported the exercise through the employment of the CMDO V-150 โ€œNASUGBOโ€ and CMDO V-150 โ€œCABUYAOโ€, contributing to the seamless integration of participating forces in the conduct of combined arms operations.

Through CABEX 2026, the Rapido Troops further strengthened their interoperability, coordination, and readiness contributing to the overall preparedness for Territorial Defense Operations.

The lecture was facilitated by Ms. Charish T. Danao-Talamayan, CHRA, LPT, MPA, JD, who served as the resource speaker. She discussed important concepts related to gender-based violence, including its forms, causes, prevention, and the importance of promoting a safe and respectful environment for all.

The activity aimed to strengthen the awareness and understanding of Rapido Troops on gender-based violence and encourage them to uphold respect, dignity, and equality in the workplace and in the community.
