HAPIsabela! Mabuhay!

‎Once again, Happy Fiesta Barangay Sumagdang, Purok Gawad Kalinga!

‎The Local Government Unit of Isabela de Basilan, under the visionary leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman through the City Tourism Office, is one in celebration of the Feast day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. To warmly celebrate this occasion, the LGU of Isabela de Basilan through the initiative of Mayor Dadah Turabin-Hataman extended floral decoration for the chapel of Barangay Sumagdang specifically Purok Gawad Kalinga.

‎The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord is celebrated annually on August 6. It is a Christian feast that commemorates the moment when Jesus was transfigured and revealed His divine glory to three of His disciples—Peter, James, and John—on a high mountain. This sacred event is recounted in the Synoptic Gospels: Matthew 17:1–9, Mark 9:2–8, and Luke 9:28–36

‎The Transfiguration serves as a powerful reminder of Christ's divine nature and the glory that awaits believers. It is a pivotal moment that connects Jesus' earthly ministry with His forthcoming suffering, death, and resurrection. The event reassured the disciples of Jesus' divine authority and prepared them for the challenges that lay ahead.

‎Happy Fiesta Barangay Sumagdang, Purok Gawad Kalinga!
