ONE MARCH. ONE TEAM. ONE MISSION.

In the early morning of 03 September 2026, the 6th Special Forces โ€œLIONHEARTโ€ Battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey A. Fabros, Commanding Officer, participated in the 17-kilometer GAGANDILAKAD 2026, a simultaneous long-distance equipment march involving all Philippine Army units based in Basilan Province.

Conceptualized by the 1101st Infantry โ€œGAGANDILANโ€ Brigade, under the leadership of Brigadier General Frederick M. Sales, the GAGANDILAKAD 2026 brought together Army units in a collective demonstration of readiness, discipline, resilience, and unity.

Participating units, including the 6th Special Forces โ€œLIONHEARTโ€ Battalion, 18th Infantry โ€œDEO ET PATRIAโ€ Battalion, 32nd Infantry โ€œDAREDEVILโ€ Battalion, and 45th โ€œGALLANTโ€ Battalion, conducted the activity within their respective Areas of Operations while commiting in one common purpose: to maintain a cohesive, capable, prepared , and mission-ready force.

More than a test of physical endurance, the activity reinforced the value of jointness, agility, cohesion and collective combat readiness. It provided an opportunity for units to strengthen camaraderie, foster mutual support, and develop a stronger sense of teamworkโ€”essential qualities in accomplishing missions that require coordination and unity of effort.

The march also emphasized that operational readiness extends beyond the capability of individual units. A strong force is built when units stand together, support one another, and operate with a shared commitment to mission accomplishment.

Through GAGANDILAKAD 2026, the LIONHEART Battalion reaffirmed its commitment not only to maintaining a high level of individual and unit readiness, but also to strengthening its bonds with fellow Army units in the pursuit of a unified and responsive force capable of meeting operational challenges.

Together, we march stronger. Together, we remain ready. Together, we accomplish the mission.

ONE FORCE. ONE PURPOSE. ONE MISSION.

On September 3, 2026, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) personnel headed by Ms. Christal Angelica L. Sible, Election Assistant II, Municipality of Akbar, together with Ms. Razen H. Sacristan, Election Assistant II, OPES Basilan, and Ms. Mary Antonette B. Paulino, Election Job Order โ€“ OPES Basilan, conducted an information drive for the personnel of the 6th Special Forces โ€œLionheartโ€ Battalion (6SFBn) who will be deployed in voting precincts during the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Election (BPE) 2026, with the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey A. Fabros, Commanding Officer, 6SFBn.

The activity focused on the possible incidents and situations that may arise during the conduct of the election, as well as the appropriate actions to be taken by security personnel. Emphasis was placed on maintaining peace, order, and security within and around the polling areas, while ensuring that the conduct of the election remains orderly, reliable, and free from unnecessary interference.

Personnel were reminded to perform their duties in accordance with existing rules, regulations, and directives governing election security. They were also oriented on the importance of proper coordination with the Election Board (EB), Election Officer (EO), and other authorized election officials, particularly in addressing security concerns, managing unforeseen incidents, and ensuring the safety of voters, election personnel, and election paraphernalia.

As security personnel, the 6SFBn contingent will primarily provide a secured and peaceful election environment for the conduct of the BPE. Personnel are expected to remain vigilant, maintain professionalism and impartiality, respond appropriately to security incidents, and immediately coordinate with the concerned election authorities and proper law enforcement agencies when necessary.

The information drive further strengthened the readiness and awareness of 6SFBn personnel to perform their assigned duties and contribute to the safe, reliable, peaceful, and orderly conduct of the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Election 2026.

On 20 August 2026, the 6th Special Forces โ€œLIONHEARTโ€ Battalion (6SFBn) participated in the Western Mindanao-wide Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations (IA-TDO) Exercise in Basilan Province.
Under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey A. Fabros, the Commanding Officer of the 6SFBn, the unit conducted Vertical Insertion through Military Free Fall and Airborne Operations at DZ โ€œLIMOOK,โ€ Brgy. Limook, Lamitan City, Basilan, demonstrating the unitโ€™s readiness to rapidly deploy forces and support territorial defense operations.

The Basilan IA-TDO exercise was formally opened with the participation of military units under the 1101st โ€œGAGANDILANโ€ Infantry Brigade, covering the municipalities of Sumisip and Tipo-Tipo, as well as Lamitan City, in close collaboration with the Basilan Provincial Police Office, Philippine Coast Guard, and Local Government Units.

The exercise was witnessed by Major General Leonardo I. Peรฑa, Commander of the 11th Infantry โ€œALAKDANโ€ Division, who emphasized the importance of continuous inter-agency training, preparation, coordination, and capability development. He further highlighted that the Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations will eventually transition into Inter-Agency Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations (CADO) as participating units and agencies become further trained, prepared, equipped and capacitated.

The exercise underscores the importance of unity of effort and interoperability among the Armed Forces of the Philippines, PNP, PCG, and Local Government Units. Through realistic and integrated training, participating agencies strengthen their ability to coordinate, respond, and operate together in support of the nationโ€™s territorial defense.

After the IA-TDO exercise, the 6SFBn conducted its Third Quarter Military Free Fall and Airborne Sustainment Trainings. This was participated by other Special Operation Forces Units under the Joint Special Operations Group and First Scout Ranger Regiment. This quarterly Sustainment Trainings aim to maintain the proficiency of personnel in Military Free Fall and Airborne Operations.

Train together. Prepare together. Defend together.

LIONHEART โ€” Courage and Determination.
