DATU BLAH SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte โ COL ANTHONY O. SAMONTE ARM (GSC) PA, Group Commander of the 12th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, witnessed the conduct of MAREX 2026 (Marine Exercise 2026) Joint Artillery Littoral Live Fire Exercise held at Barangay Penansaran, Datu Blah Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on 28 May 2026. Accompanying him were LTC LITO B MAGHUYOP (INF) PA, Director of 1202nd Community Defense Center, together with reservist personnel from 12RCDG who actively participated and observed the large-scale bilateral military exercise hosted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), represented by the Philippine Marine Corps, and the United States Marine Corps.
The exercise demonstrated a full mission-profile amphibious assault operation featuring coordinated multi-domain maneuvers, sea-to-shore assault operations, and live-fire artillery demonstrations designed to strengthen coastal defense capabilities and operational interoperability between allied forces. The participation of reservist personnel highlighted the significant role of the Reserve Force in supporting national defense, disaster response readiness, territorial security, and community-based military operations. The activity further enhanced the reservistsโ exposure to modern warfare strategies, joint operational planning, and combat readiness initiatives alongside active military counterparts and international allies.
Military and local government officials emphasized that MAREX 2026 serves as a vital platform in reinforcing maritime security cooperation, validating littoral defense strategies, and strengthening partnerships among the AFP, allied forces, local government units, and community stakeholders. Provincial officials led by Vice Governor Datu Marshall I. Sinsuat, Provincial Administrator Datu Sharifudin Tucao P. Mastura, CPA, Chief Minister Abdulraof โSammy Gambarโ A. Macacua, and Datu Blah Sinsuat Mayor Bai Raida Tomawis Sinsuat also attended the activity in support of the continuing efforts to safeguard territorial waters, maintain regional stability, and promote peace and security in Mindanao. The involvement of 12RCDG reservists underscores the unwavering commitment of the Reserve Force in contributing to national security and defense preparedness initiatives.
