DepEd's move to assist earthquake affected areas involve rehabilitation and reconstruction of almost 300 schools. Indeed, even disasters should not hamper our students' learning.

As reports continue to come in, the Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday said it might need more than P500 million for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of over 300 schools that were damaged following the 6.6 and 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Tulunan, North Cotabato.

SDO SK take steps to develop 'love for reading'

To promote the love for reading, SDO-Sultan Kudarat launched its new Library Hub located in the premises of the division office.

“This hub aims to foster our learners’ interest in reading books as well as develop their appreciation of books and other learning resources,” says OIC SDS Ruth L. Estacio, CESO VI, during the launching program of the said building.

The 1.8 M building donated by the provincial government now serves as a reading nook open for teachers and learners alike.

DepEd’s move to strengthen Social Media governance

To create a platform for a more directed system of information, DepEd gathered the information officers from all the 17 regions as well as divisions of the country at Fontana Hotel in Clark, Pampanga on October 13-15, 2019 wherein they were equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage their respective pages and Workplace accounts.

This move aims to strengthen governance of social media as a platform to promote DepEd’s programs and services.
