| Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, through Executive Order No. 2025-69, has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school (both private and public) in the Province of Benguet tomorrow, September 22, 2025, in anticipation of the imminent threat of Super typhoon .

The public is urged to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential travel, and to contact their respective Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) for any emergencies or weather-related concerns.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant and take note of the following: GCash and DSWD will NEVER ask you to pay any amount to claim ayuda.

Do NOT enter your OTP or personal details on unfamiliar websites. Avoid clicking on suspicious links, even those appearing to come from verified sources, especially shortened links or messages claiming you’ve won a prize.

If you receive such a message, please ignore and delete it immediately.

Stay alert, stay safe, and always double-check before clicking on anything that seems too good to be true.

𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗬

The Sangguniang Bayan of Itogon has officially passed a resolution declaring the Municipality of Itogon under a State of Calamity during its regular session held today, August 5, 2025.

This declaration follows the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), chaired by Mayor Bernard S. Waclin, and was formally endorsed to the Sangguniang Bayan through Vice Mayor Dante Allain Xavier D. Godio.

The decision was made in response to the severe impacts and damages caused by Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, as well as the continuous heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon. These weather events have resulted in significant damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and livelihoods throughout the municipality.

Preliminary Damage Reports:
* Infrastructure: P19,777,999.20
* Agriculture: P4,047,621.00
* Livelihood: P133,000.00

Additionally, the MDRRMC reported damage to major road networks, including the Baguio-Bua-Itogon National Road in Goldfield, Poblacion, and the Carantes Provincial Road. These obstructions have hindered emergency response operations and disrupted the delivery of essential public services.

The declaration also takes into account data from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, which reported that 242 families or 883 individuals were displaced due to the recent adverse weather conditions.

The State of Calamity declaration will enable the local government to mobilize resources more effectively and expedite recovery and rehabilitation.

Road Update at 6:40AM | Carantes Road is now made passable by LGU personnel. However, motorists are advised to proceed with extreme caution as rockfalls continue to occur.

Road Advisory at 5AM, July 31

Two major roads in Itogon are currently impassable.

The National Road along Goldfield in Poblacion has been obstructed by a massive landslide that occurred yesterday. Given the volume and extent of the debris, clearing operations are expected to take several days.

Meanwhile, Carantes Road, a municipal road also located in Poblacion, remains intermittently impassable due to ongoing rockfalls involving large boulders.
