Dear Rev. Fr. Bernardo T. Taypen & San Julian De Cuenca Parish,
Peace be with you!
We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the Washing of the Feet ceremony last Holy Thursday. It was a humbling and grace-filled experience, one that gave us time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the true meaning of servant leadership as shown by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Throughout this Lenten season, we found ourselves reflecting not only on personal sacrifice, but also on the deeper calling to serve with humility and love. The sacredness of Lent, especially Holy Week, reminded us that true leadership begins with a heart willing to serve, to listen, and to love without condition.
We understand that there may be some who perceive our presence at such a spiritual event as being tied to our candidacy. But we want to sincerely assure you, the Parish and the community that our participation was rooted in faith and a desire to grow more deeply in our commitment to serve—not just as a public servant, but as a follower of Christ. The message of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples resonates strongly with us. It is a reminder that genuine leadership is never about position or recognition, but about selfless service.
Thank you, Fr. Taypen, for your trust and for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful tradition. May the lessons of Holy Week continue to guide us beyond this season and into the responsibilities we are called to take on.
With deep appreciation and respect,
TEAM HUGPONG
