The Municipality of Janiuay, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) headed by Mr. Joven Barranco, hosted the Wildlife Enforcement Officers Refresher Orientation on Republic Act No. 9147 on August 20, 2026, with the theme βStrengthening Knowledge, Enhancing Enforcement, Protecting Philippine Wildlife.β The activity was conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Western Visayas through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Barotac Nuevo, with representatives from 15 municipalities in attendance.
Municipal Mayor Paulino "Paul" Parian delivered the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of strengthening local efforts in protecting and conserving Philippine wildlife. Also present was Glenn S. Del Norte, CENR Officer, who delivered a message and shared the statement of purpose for the activity. The orientation provided an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and enhance the capabilities of Wildlife Enforcement Officers in the implementation and enforcement of RA 9147, or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
The Municipality of Janiuay remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote environmental protection, wildlife conservation, and stronger coordination among local government units in safeguarding the countryβs natural resources.
