MENRO Janiuay successfully hosted the 3rd Cluster Management – Technical Working Group Orientation Workshop this morning, March 19, 2026, at the MENRO Office.

The activity focused on the proper registration in the Company Registration System (CRS) and the correct procedures for submitting the Self-Compliance Monitoring and Auditing Report (SCMAR).

This initiative aims to ensure compliance with the reporting requirements of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and to further strengthen the technical capacity of MENRO personnel in environmental monitoring and documentation.

The workshop was spearheaded by Rosa May Valle, Cherry T. Calapa-an, and Lyn Harry Lamzon, all Environmental Monitoring Officers (EnMOs) from EMB Region VI, and was attended by MENROs from the 3rd District.

MENRO Joven Holds Dialogue to Strengthen Campaign Against Illegal Quarrying

Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) Joven Barranco conducted a dialogue with Atty. Cesar Emmanuelle Buyco Jr., PENR Officer, and Mitzi Peñaflorida, Supervising EMS of PGENRO, together with PSSg Joey Sabordo, Assistant Operation PNCO, and PSSg Glen Rapista, Investigator from the Janiuay Police Station, this morning, March 12, 2026, at the MENRO Office.

The dialogue aimed to strengthen the implementation of Article H, Section 2H.35 of Provincial Ordinance No. 2017-145 and intensify coordination among concerned agencies in combating illegal quarrying activities in the Municipality of Janiuay.

The meeting highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration to ensure the protection of the municipality’s natural resources and strict enforcement of environmental laws.

MENRO WOW Taskforce Conducts Monitoring of Plastic Ordinance

The MENRO War on Waste (WOW ) Taskforce, headed by MENRO Joven Barranco, conducted a monitoring activity this morning, March 11, during the market day in Bolanteros to ensure the proper implementation of the municipal Plastic Ordinance.

The activity aims to remind vendors and consumers to comply with the ordinance by minimizing the use of single-use plastics and promoting environmentally friendly alternatives. The taskforce also provided information and guidance to market vendors to strengthen awareness and support for the municipality’s environmental protection initiatives. 🌿♻️
