DILG Jaro recognized the best performing barangays for July 2026 for their consistent compliance with various DILG requirements and programs. The recognition provided an opportunity to acknowledge barangays that demonstrated consistent attention to their reporting and program implementation responsibilities. Compliance with these requirements supports effective monitoring and helps ensure that mandated governance initiatives are carried out at the barangay level.

DILG Jaro emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate, complete, and timely submissions, as these contribute to transparency, accountability, and responsive local governance.

The recognition also encourages barangays to sustain their compliance and continue improving the quality and timeliness of their reports and program implementation.

𝗣𝗗𝗘𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗿𝗼

The PDEA Regional Office Balay Silangan Focal Officer coordinated with DILG Jaro for the pre-inspection of the designated Balay Silangan facility in Jaro, Leyte to assess its compliance with applicable Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) regulations and issuances. The activity was conducted on August 13, 2026 at the Jaro Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center.

The pre-inspection focused on determining the facility’s compliance with the prescribed requirements for the establishment and operation of Balay Silangan. The activity also provided an opportunity to identify areas that may need to be addressed by the local government prior to the succeeding assessment.

The coordination between PDEA and DILG Jaro supports the Municipality of Jaro in ensuring that the designated facility meets the standards and requirements under relevant DDB regulations and issuances.

The pre-inspection findings will serve as a guide for the Municipality in undertaking necessary actions to address any identified requirements and further prepare the facility for the succeeding validation process.

𝗝𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Barangay Secretaries of Jaro, Leyte met to discuss key reportorial and administrative requirements and strengthen their understanding of Katarungang Pambarangay procedures during their August 2026 meeting held on August 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the ABC Hall.

DILG staff discussed the reportorial requirements related to Safer School Zones and reminded the Barangay Secretaries of the submission of the Executive Order on the Organization of the Barangay and SK Inventory Team. They were likewise reminded to submit the Initial Inventory of Barangay Properties and Financial Records and Documents to ensure proper documentation and accountability at the barangay level.

Meanwhile, OIC-MLGOO Irene T. Hobayan also facilitated a refresher discussion on the Katarungang Pambarangay Law, focusing on the proper use of KP forms, prescribed timelines, and procedures. The discussion provided the Barangay Secretaries with guidance on ensuring completeness and accuracy in the documentation and processing of barangay-level dispute settlement cases.

The meeting concluded with the awarding of the Best Performing Barangay Secretaries for the Month of July 2026, recognizing their performance in carrying out their administrative duties and responsibilities.

The regular meeting provided an avenue to clarify reportorial requirements, reinforce proper documentation practices, and strengthen the implementation of barangay governance processes in Jaro.

The DILG Jaro Municipal Office, in coordination with the Municipal Accounting and Budget Office, updated the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) boards posted in conspicuous public places across the Municipality of Jaro, Leyte. The activity covered the Municipal Ground, Jaro Cultural Center, and Jaro Public Market.

The updating of FDP boards is conducted every quarter as part of the municipality’s compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy, which promotes transparency and accountability in local government financial management.

The activity also strengthens coordination between DILG and the concerned municipal offices in monitoring compliance and ensuring that required disclosures are regularly updated and properly posted in accessible public areas.

The DILG Jaro Municipal Office joined the August meeting of the Liga ng mga Barangay and briefed the Punong Barangays on DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-037 on Safer School Zones, including the reports required for submission. The meeting was held on August 7, 2026, at the Sangguniang Bayan Conference Hall, Jaro, Leyte.

The participation of DILG Jaro in the Liga meeting strengthened coordination with the barangays and provided the Punong Barangays with clear guidance on their responsibilities in promoting safer school zones and complying with the required reporting mechanisms.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 II The DILG Jaro Municipal Office reinforced its policy prohibiting the solicitation and acceptance of gifts by posting No Gift Policy materials around its office premises to remind personnel and clients of the standards expected from public servants.

The information drive underscores the office’s compliance with DILG Circular No. 2026-014 and Republic Act No. 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. The posted materials serve as visible reminders that government personnel must uphold integrity and avoid soliciting or accepting gifts, favors, or benefits in connection with the performance of their official duties.

The policy also reinforces the DILG’s commitment to being 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰, 𝘔𝘢𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 in delivering public service. For DILG Jaro staff and employees, this means maintaining professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct in every transaction with local government units, partner agencies, and the public.
