Strengthening Communities Through Service 🇵🇭

On 20–21 July 2026, 4th Special Forces Battalion and the 16th Special Forces Company, in partnership with the Civil Military Affairs Brigade (CMAB, AFP Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM), successfully conducted a Medical Mission in Brgy. La Esperanza, Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon, and Brgy. San Vicente, Bulusan, Sorsogon in close collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Sta. Magdalena and the Local Government Unit of Bulusan, Sorsogon.

The activity provided free medical consultations, medicines, and basic healthcare services to residents, reflecting the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ unwavering commitment to bringing essential services closer to communities, particularly those in remote areas.

This initiative demonstrates the spirit of bayanihan, compassion, and civil-military cooperation, strengthening the partnership between the AFP, local government units, healthcare professionals, and the people in building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Together, we continue to serve with honor, uphold our commitment to the Filipino people, and make a positive difference—one community at a time.

Closing Ceremony | Community Action for Resilience and Emergency Support (CARES) Training 🇵🇭

The Community Action for Resilience and Emergency Support (CARES) Training successfully concluded on 13 July 2026 at the Bulusan Cultural Sports Center, Brgy. Looban, Bulusan, Sorsogon, with the participation of barangay representatives and community stakeholders committed to enhancing disaster preparedness and emergency response.

The activity was led by 1LT Terso Mark Orot, Team Leader, SF team1603, 16SFC, 4SFBN, SFR(A), SOCOM, PA whose leadership underscored the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ commitment to empowering communities through resilience-building initiatives.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Message of Support from Hon. Michael G. Guysako, Vice Mayor of Bulusan, and Hon. Wennie Rafallo-Romano, Municipal Mayor of Bulusan, who reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to sustaining collaborative efforts in disaster risk reduction, community safety, and public service.

Also expressing support were PCPT Erwin Javar, Chief of Police, and PO1 James Anthony Cama, Deputy Commander, CGSS Bulan, highlighting the importance of interagency cooperation in strengthening emergency preparedness and ensuring the safety and security of every community.

The program concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Engr. Ken Marc G. Ragasa, Former Municipal Government Department Head and MDRRMO of Bulusan, who commended the participants, partner agencies, and organizers for their dedication and encouraged everyone to continue applying the knowledge and skills gained throughout the training.

The successful completion of the CARES Training reflects the enduring partnership among the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Local Government Unit of Bulusan, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other stakeholders in building resilient, prepared, and empowered communities.

Closing Ceremony | Community Action for Resilience and Emergency Support (CARES) Training🇵🇭

The Community Action for Resilience and Emergency Support (CARES) Training formally concluded on 05 July 2026 at Sabang Park, Zone 2, Barangay Poblacion, Bulan, Sorsogon, bringing together representatives from thirty-six (36) barangays of the Municipality of Bulan in a celebration of commitment, collaboration, and community resilience.

The program commenced with the Welcome Remarks delivered by Mr. John Derick Grey, OIC —Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), who emphasized the importance of strengthening disaster preparedness through partnership and community participation.

Messages of support and inspiration were shared by PLTC Barry Gibb T. Zorilla, Chief of Police, Bulan Municipal Police Station, as the Key Partner Speaker, and LTC Erman Ryan C. Dalope, Commanding Officer, 22nd Infantry Battalion, who underscored the value of unity and preparedness in safeguarding communities.

The ceremony was further honored by the presence of LTC Alberto D. Balatbat, Battalion Commander, 4SFBn (R), SFR(A), SOCOM, PA who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, recognizing the dedication of the participants and reaffirming the commitment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to community resilience, disaster preparedness, and nation-building.

The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Representative of Hon. Romeo A. Gordola, Municipal Mayor. Hon Excel Zuñiga. Private Secretary II, Office of the Mayor. Former Municipal Councilor, who expressed his gratitude to all partner agencies, facilitators, and participants for their unwavering support in making the training a success and for their shared commitment to building safer and more resilient communities.

The successful completion of the CARES Training stands as a testament to the power of collaboration among the local government, national government agencies, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, and the people of Bulan in fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience.
