Mandated by Proclamation No. 142, this annual celebration recognizes the coconut industry's invaluable contribution to the country's economy, the livelihood of millions of Filipino coconut farmers, and the nation's rich agricultural heritage.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cotabato Province joins the nation in honoring our coconut farmers, processors, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs who continue to transform this remarkable crop into products that create jobs, empower communities, and showcase Filipino excellence.

DTI Conducts Simple Bookkeeping Seminar for Kabacan MSMEs

KABACAN, COTABATO | The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Cotabato Province, through the Negosyo Center Kabacan, conducted a Simple Bookkeeping Seminar for Kabacan Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on August 18, 2026, at Bogs Bugoy Gastropub, Poblacion, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The seminar aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in basic bookkeeping, particularly in properly recording business transactions and maintaining organized financial records. Proper bookkeeping enables MSMEs to monitor their income and expenses, assess business performance, manage cash flow, and make informed business decisions.

DTI Negosyo Center resource speakers discussed essential bookkeeping concepts, including the importance of financial record-keeping, identification of account titles, basic debit and credit principles, and proper recording of daily business transactions. Participants also engaged in practical exercises designed to help them apply the concepts to actual business situations.

Through the activity, participating Kabacan MSMEs gained practical knowledge that can help them improve their financial management practices and strengthen the sustainability of their enterprises.

The initiative forms part of DTI’s continuing efforts to empower MSMEs through capacity-building activities that promote responsible business management, financial literacy, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

DTI Region XII is set to conduct the 𝐄-𝐓𝐀𝐀𝐒 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐘 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 on August 26–27, 2026, in Koronadal City.

Only 𝟔 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 are available for Cotabato Province, so we invite interested women entrepreneurs to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their digital skills and grow their businesses online!

✅ Qualifications
• Must be a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise (MSME)
• Participant must be a WOMAN, at least 18 years old, and an owner, co-owner, or manager
• Must submit: DTI Certificate, Mayor’s Permit, and BIR Registration
• Must have monthly sales of ₱15,000 and above
• For food products: must have at least 3 months shelf life
• Must bring a laptop or tablet during the training
• Must have an active email address
• Must have an active business social media page
