Para sa mga MSMEs hindi madali magpatakbo ng negosyo kung limitado ang kaalaman sa teknolohiya. May mga nahihirapang maabot ang customers, maipakilala ang kanilang produkto, at makasabay sa digitalization.

Kaya, bilang tugon sa panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tulungan umangat ang mga MSMEs sa digital economy, ginabayan ng DICT ang mga entrepreneurs sa SOCCSKSARGEN at LaMa Provinces ng BARMM sa tamang paggamit ng digital skills at tools upang lumawak at lumago ang kanilang negosyo.

At the 18th NICP National ICT Summit 2026 in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, CATALIST (Cotabato Academe–Private Sector Technology Alliance for Learning, Innovation, Science, and Technopreneurship) was recognized by the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines — proof that a province built on collaboration can hold its own alongside the nation's biggest tech hubs.

This year's theme, "Beyond Borders: Advancing AI-Driven Digital Transformation in Governance, Talent, and Innovation," is more than a summit slogan for us. It's the same mission CATALIST was built on: bringing academe, government, and industry together to grow Cotabato's digital future from the ground up.

Sharing this moment with ICT councils, LGUs, startups, and innovators from across the country is a reminder that digital transformation isn't only happening in the big cities it's being built here too.

Sa mga LGUs sa Cotabato, unti-unti nang napapadali ang proseso ng pagkuha at pagrenew ng business permits sa tulong ng eLGU. Kung dati ay kailangang magpalipat-lipat ng opisina, maglaan ng mas mahabang oras, at harapin ang pagkaantala sa mga transaksyon, mas maayos na ngayon ang daloy ng proseso sa pamamagitan ng digital system.

Sa ilalim ng direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na gawing mas mabilis, episyente, at accessible ang serbisyo ng pamahalaan, ipinapatupad ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang eLGU upang isulong ang digitalization ng mga serbisyo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan.

Sa pamamagitan ng eLGU, partikular ang Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (eBPLS), mas napapabilis ang processing ng business permits, nababawasan ang oras at pagpunta sa mga tanggapan, at mas nagiging maayos ang pamamahala ng transactions sa panig ng LGU.

Ibinahagi nina Ginang Bernardina Aranda ng Kidapawan City, Mayor Clemente B. Fedoc at Municipal Treasurer Rosemarie B. Enriquez ng Norala, at Municipal Administrator at Designated BPLO Ben C. Guzman ng Kabacan, kung paano nakatulong ang digitalization sa pamamagitan ng eLGU, sa pagpapabilis at pagpapadali ng kanilang mga transaksyon.

Sa Bayan ng Kabacan, North Cotabato, mas pinadali ng electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (eBPLS) ang proseso ng pagkuha ng business permit.

Ayon kay Ben Guzman, Municipal Administrator at Designated BPLO ng Kabacan, malaking tulong ang digitalization dahil napabilis ang pagprocess ng business permit dahil sa unified application form, habang maaari nang mag-apply online mula sa sariling bahay kaya nabawasan ang pila ng mga aplikante.

"Pinapaabot po namin ang taos-pusong pasasalamat sa ating Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa pagbigay ng importansya sa ating mga negosyante at mamumuhunan na magpatuloy sa kanilang magandang adhikain na pagnenegosyo sa ating bayan."

Ito ang gustong baguhin ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kanyang direktiba na pabilisin ang digitalization ng government services at gawing mas madali ang pagnenegosyo sa bansa.

NGAYON: Sa pamamagitan ng eLGU, ang business permit transactions ay maaari nang gawin online, mula application at assessment hanggang payment at pagkuha ng permit, depende sa serbisyong available sa LGU.

Sa SOCCSKSARGEN at LaMa provinces ng BARMM, 63 LGUs na ang operational sa eLGU System.

Watch the highlights from the Ceremonial Kick-Off of the Provision of Free Internet Access in Public Spaces (PFIAPS) project! The DICT has officially activated 480 Free Wi-Fi access points across 160 communities in SOCCSKSARGEN to ensure no Filipino is left behind in the digital age.

Led by DICT Undersecretary 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗙𝗮𝘆𝗲 𝗠. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇-𝗗𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗡𝗦𝗔 alongside DICT Region XII and local partners, this massive rollout brings reliable connectivity straight to the people who need it most.

Project Highlights:

📶 South Cotabato (2nd District): 225 access points across 75 sites, empowering rural health units and barangay facilities for better public service and teleconsultations.

📶 North Cotabato (2nd District): 255 access points across 85 sites, boosting digital learning and online resources in schools.

💻 The Goal: Faster e-government transactions, stronger digital education, and greater participation in the digital economy.

Over 200 key stakeholders—including teachers, Local Government Unit (LGU) officials, and community leaders—gathered to celebrate this major step toward a fully connected community.

📡 What This Means for Our Communities:

Through this project, 𝟒𝟖𝟎 Free Wi-Fi access points across 160 public locations are now activated (𝟕𝟓 sites in South Cotabato and 𝟖𝟓 sites in North Cotabato).

Powered by cutting-edge Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, each site is equipped with three access points offering high-speed connectivity of 100 to 220 Mbps.

Located in public schools, health centers, barangay halls, and government offices.
