The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) welcomes the signing of the E-Governance Act into law by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., a landmark achievement that signals a new era in the countryโs digital transformation journey.
The E-Governance Act institutionalizes a unified, interoperable, and secure digital government system that will streamline processes, reduce red tape, and enhance transparency. By establishing a whole-of-government digital framework, the law ensures faster, more efficient delivery of public services to every Filipino, anytime, anywhere.
DICT Secretary Henry R. Aguda expressed his profound gratitude to President Marcos for championing this measure, describing it as a decisive step toward building a truly connected nation. He emphasized that the new law reflects the Presidentโs vision and commitment to inclusive growth, innovation, and citizen empowerment.
โWe thank the President for turning this long-standing aspiration into reality. The E-Governance Act is more than just reform but a promise fulfilled under his leadership. With this law, government services will now be within reach of every Filipino: efficient, transparent, and secure. The DICT is fully committed to bringing this vision to life, working hand-in-hand with all agencies and local governments to ensure that no one is left behind in the digital age,โ Secretary Aguda said.
The DICT reaffirms its role as the lead implementing agency in advancing e-governance, guided by the vision of Bagong Pilipinas, a government that is responsive, inclusive, and citizen-centered.
