The session, delivered by JO3 BEMBO VERGARA, Unit Values Restoration Officer, emphasized the importance of understanding and managing our emotions, maintaining composure during challenging situations, building positive relationships, and developing a calm and resilient mindset. 🧘‍♂️🤝

Emotional stability is more than controlling our emotions—it is about responding with wisdom, patience, and professionalism, especially in the demanding environment of jail management.

🕊️ LET’S PAUSE FOR PEACE | National Peace Consciousness Month 2026

Kabankalan City District Jail joins the nation and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) in observing the National Peace Consciousness Month this September 2026 through the “Let’s Pause for Peace” campaign. 🕊️💙

As a community committed to changing lives and building a safer nation, KCDJ recognizes OPAPRU’s call to pause and reflect on the value of peace and our shared responsibility in building a culture of peace. Peace begins with the choices we make every day—through dialogue, respect, kindness, understanding, reconciliation, and unity.

Within the walls of Kabankalan City District Jail, we continue to foster an environment where positive transformation, peaceful dialogue, and hope can take root. Through our programs and daily interactions with Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), we strive to demonstrate that peace is not simply the absence of conflict, but a continuing commitment to understanding, dignity, and positive change.

This week, the Kabankalan City District Jail actively participated in a Tree Planting Activity and Community Clean-up Drive, demonstrating our continued commitment to environmental protection, community engagement, and sustainable practices. 🌳🧹

The activity was personally participated in by our Jail Warden, JCINSP JOSEPH S VILLAFRANCA, MPA, together with the dedicated personnel of KCDJ, reinforcing that environmental stewardship begins with leadership and collective action. 👮‍♂️🌿

Through planting trees and keeping our surroundings clean, we contribute not only to a healthier environment today but also to a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come. 🌏💚

As part of the Weekly Values Restoration Program, the personnel of Kabankalan City District Jail participated in a meaningful discussion on Affability, facilitated by JO3 BEMBO VERGARA, Unit Values Restoration Officer.

Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Made in the Philippines Week, ipinagmamalaki ng Kabankalan City District Jail, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni JCINSP JOSEPH S VILLAFRANCA, MPA, Acting Jail Warden, ang mga natatanging livelihood products na likhang-kamay ng mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL)—mga produktong sumasalamin sa kanilang talento, sipag, pagkamalikhain, at hangaring magkaroon ng panibagong simula.

Sa bawat hibla, butil, at likhang-kamay ay naroon ang kwento ng pagbabago, pag-asa, at dignidad. Ang mga ito ay hindi lamang produkto; mga patunay ang mga ito na ang kakayahan ay maaaring linangin at ang buhay ay maaaring muling likhain.

Sa pamamagitan ng livelihood programs, patuloy nating binibigyang pagkakataon ang mga PDL na matuto, lumikha, at maghanda para sa mas produktibong pagbabalik sa komunidad.

Forgiveness: The Strength to Move Forward🙏💪 🕊️

The Kabankalan City District Jail (KCDJ) conducted a Weekly Values Restoration Program featuring a meaningful discussion on Forgiveness, facilitated by JO3 Bembo Vergara, Values Restoration Facilitator.

The session emphasized that forgiveness is not about forgetting the wrongs committed or excusing harmful actions. Rather, it is about letting go of resentment, choosing peace, extending grace, and freeing oneself from the burden of anger and bitterness.

Through open reflection and meaningful discussion, KCDJ personnel were reminded that forgiveness can help build stronger relationships, promote understanding and compassion, and contribute to a healthier and more harmonious workplace.

🎯 BUILDING SKILLS. STRENGTHENING READINESS.

The Kabankalan City District Jail conducted the Introduction to Practical Sports Shooting, a capability-building activity designed to enhance the skills, discipline, safety awareness, and operational readiness of participating personnel from BJMP Kabankalan, BJMP Himamaylan, and members of the Special Tactics and Response (STAR) Team – NIR.

The activity was made possible through the guidance of JSUPT RICHARD P LAURE, Subject Matter Expert, with SJO1 John Den E Credo serving as the Official Range Officer. The initiative was originally spearheaded by JCINSP KEVIN G BONILLA, former Acting Jail Warden of Kabankalan City District Jail, and continued with the support of JCINSP JOSEPH S VILLAFRANCA, Acting Jail Warden of Kabankalan City District Jail.

The Kabankalan City District Jail extends its sincere appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Kabankalan City, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor BENJIE MIRANDA , whose support helped make this valuable training activity possible.

The Kabankalan City District Jail likewise extends its sincere appreciation to the 542nd Engineer Construction “Pathfinder” Battalion, Philippine Army, for its generosity in accommodating the activity and providing the use of its Firing Range at Brgy. Caradio-an, Himamaylan City. Special recognition is extended to Lieutenant Colonel JUNEFER D CAMACHO, Commanding Officer of the 542nd Engineer (PATHFINDER) Battalion, 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, together with Captain ALEX Q FERNANDEZ , for the unit’s valuable support and cooperation in making this training activity possible.

Through continuous learning, proper training, and shared commitment, we strengthen our personnel and reinforce our dedication to professional and responsive public service.

Sa isinagawang Weekly Values Restoration Program, tinalakay sa Kabankalan City District Jail ang mahalagang tema ng “Nasyonalismo”—isang paalala na ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan ay hindi lamang ipinapahayag, kundi higit na isinasabuhay sa pamamagitan ng mabuting asal, disiplina, malasakit, at tapat na paglilingkod.

Sa bawat talakayan, layunin nating palalimin ang pagpapahalaga sa pagiging makabayan, responsable, at may malasakit sa kapwa, tungo sa positibong pagbabago at mas matatag na pagkatao.

🌱 Munting Bagay, Malaking Pagbabago

Sa isinagawang Weekly Values Restoration Program, tinalakay ni JO3 BEMBO E. VERGARA, Unit Values Restoration Officer, ang kahalagahan ng “Simple Living”—isang pamumuhay na nakatuon sa pagiging simple, disiplinado, mapagpakumbaba, at marunong magpahalaga sa mga bagay na tunay na mahalaga.

Ang simpleng pamumuhay ay hindi tungkol sa pagkakaroon ng kaunti, kundi sa pagpili kung ano ang tunay na may halaga. Sa bawat pagbawas ng hindi kailangan, nabibigyan natin ng puwang ang mga bagay na higit na mahalaga—pagbabago, kapayapaan, pamilya, at magandang kinabukasan. 💙

Sa Kabankalan City District Jail, patuloy nating isinusulong ang mga pagpapahalagang humuhubog sa mas mabuting pagkatao at nagbibigay ng panibagong pag-asa.
