𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐄𝐓 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐒 #𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐄 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 | The local government of Kabayan through the Office of tye Municipal Mayor welcomed representatives of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Benguet on Monday, June 15, 2026 for a courtesy visit.

The delegation was led by Ms. Layla A. Corro and was formally accommodated by Ms. Haydeeh A. Baldino, Private Secretary II. Also present during the visit was Ms. Rashaira D. Tome, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Kabayan, Benguet, who joined the discussions to further strengthen support for local enterprises.

The meeting focused on the coordination of the upcoming Coffee Festival and the next steps following the recently conducted coffee trainings. Ms. Baldino expressed gratitude for the continued partnership with DTI Benguet and the Negosyo Center, emphasizing the importance of coffee as one of Kabayan’s flagship products with strong potential for livelihood, trade, and tourism development.

The LGU reasserted its pledge to collaborate with DTI Benguet and the Negosyo Center in advancing programs that promote local products, strengthen community participation, and boost Kabayan’s economic growth through sustainable agriculture and trade.

✨ Empowering Women Through Creativity and Livelihood Opportunities ✨

The Beads of Opportunity: Accessories Making Workshop for Women was successfully conducted on May 28, 2026 at the Municipal Gym, Poblacion, Bokod, Benguet. The activity was organized by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of LGU Bokod in partnership with DTI Baguio-Benguet through Negosyo Center Kabayan.

A total of 25 women participants from the different barangays of Bokod joined the workshop to learn the art of accessories making and explore livelihood opportunities through handcrafted products.

The program officially opened with opening remarks from Mr. Geison Madiano, Executive Assistant, who encouraged the participants to continue developing their creativity and skills. This was followed by a message from Ms. Joyce Lumagto, Private Secretary, representing Hon. Erik Donn Ignacio, expressing support for programs that empower women and strengthen community livelihood initiatives.

The participants were guided by Ms. Jenny Timbol of Amagek Handicrafts from La Trinidad, who shared her expertise and demonstrated various techniques in creating beautiful and marketable accessories using beads and other materials.

The workshop also highlighted the use of “katnay” (Job’s tears) as natural beads, promoting the appreciation and utilization of local materials in handicraft making.

During the activity, participants were able to create different handcrafted accessories such as earrings, bracelets, ID laces, key chains, and necklaces.

Through activities like this, women are inspired to turn their talents into meaningful opportunities for additional income and entrepreneurship. 🧵✨

✨ Showcasing the creativity and potential of Bokod MSMEs through product makeover and presentation! ✨

The 2-day training activity entitled “Product Makeover: Packaging & Labelling Essentials for Bokod MSMEs” was successfully conducted on May 25–26, 2026 at the Municipal Gym, Poblacion, Bokod, Benguet through the partnership of the Local Government Unit of Bokod and DTI Baguio-Benguet through Negosyo Center Kabayan-Bokod.

The activity officially opened with welcome remarks from Hon. Alexander S. Riok, SB Committee Chair on Trade and Industry, followed by an inspiring message from Hon. Erik Donn Ignacio, Municipal Mayor, expressing support for the growth and development of local MSMEs in Bokod.

The training featured Mr. Grayson Gonzalo, Negosyo Center Trade and Industry Specialist from DTI Baguio-Benguet, as the Resource Speaker who shared valuable discussions and practical workshops.

Day 1 focused on Packaging and Labelling, Branding, and Product Presentation, equipping participants with knowledge and techniques on improving the overall appearance and marketability of their products.

On Day 2, participants learned the basics and techniques of Product Shoot, helping MSMEs improve their product photos for marketing and promotional purposes.

The activity concluded with the presentation of participants’ outputs, showcasing the creativity, learning, and improved product presentation skills gained throughout the training.
