2026 LOCAL GOVERNANCE FUNCTIONALITY APPRAISAL (LoGFA) | PROVINCIAL SITE VALIDATION

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacolod-Kalawi successfully participated in the 2026 Local Governance Functionality Appraisal (LoGFA) Provincial Site Validation conducted by the Ministry of Local and Interior Government (MILG) – Lanao del Sur Provincial Office today, September 1, 2026, at the Municipal Session Hall of Bacolod-Kalawi.

The provincial site validation was conducted by the MILG Core Team of Validators, led by Ma’am Sohra Basir, Assistant Provincial Director of MILG–Lanao del Sur Provincial Office.

The activity served as an important avenue to assess and validate the LGU’s compliance, performance, systems, and practices in delivering effective, responsive, and accountable local governance.

The LGU Bacolod-Kalawi extends its sincere appreciation to the MILG–Lanao del Sur Provincial Office and the entire Core Team of Validators for their guidance, assessment, and continued support toward strengthening local governance and improving public service delivery.

Together, we continue to uphold good governance, accountability, transparency, and quality public service for the people of Bacolod-Kalawi. 🤝🏛️

KOTA KALAWI TURNOVER CEREMONY | August 24, 2026

A significant milestone in the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage was celebrated today during the Kota Kalawi Excavation Turnover Ceremony, held at the Municipal Session Hall of the Municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi.

The ceremony opened with a Welcome and Support Message delivered by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Hanil L. Dipatuan, expressing the Local Government Unit’s commitment to supporting initiatives that preserve and deepen our understanding of Bacolod-Kalawi’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Ruhollah Al-Hussein J. Alonto, Consultant of the Bangsamoro Commission on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH) – BARMM, introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Lee Anthony M. Neri, Dean of the School of Archaeology, University of the Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City.

Dr. Neri delivered an insightful lecture on the Archaeology of Kota Kalawi, providing valuable perspectives on the historical significance, archaeological discoveries, and cultural heritage of this important site.

The Bangsamoro Commission on the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BCPCH) – BARMM successfully turned over the Archaeology and History of Kota Kalawi, marking an important step toward documenting, safeguarding, and promoting the heritage of Kota Kalawi for present and future generations.

This turnover is more than the transfer of archaeological findings—it is a celebration of our identity, history, and collective responsibility to protect the cultural legacy of our ancestors.

The Local Government Unit of Bacolod-Kalawi successfully celebrated the 52nd Nutrition Month on July 27, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi, Lanao del Sur, with the theme: “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan.”

The celebration featured a welcome address by LSWDO Princess Sarah Cosain, followed by a message of support from MSWO Noralina Oma. A highlight of the event was the presentation of Go, Grow, and Glow Foods by the Child Development Centers (CDCs), showcasing the importance of proper nutrition and healthy eating.

Participants also enjoyed lively intermission performances and fun parlor games, fostering camaraderie and active participation. Gifts and prizes, provided by Municipal Mayor Hon. Abdulmohaimen L. Dipatuan, were awarded to the participating Child Development Centers (CDCs) in recognition of their efforts and participation.

The activity reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to promoting proper nutrition, environmental stewardship, and the well-being of every Bacolod-Kalawi resident.

YESTERDAY | 48th National Disability Rights Week

In solidarity with the nation, the Local Government Unit of Bacolod-Kalawi proudly joins the observance of the 48th National Disability Rights Week from July 17–23, 2026, with the theme:

“Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development.” (National Council on Disability Affairs⁠)

As part of the celebration, an informative and meaningful activity was held yesterday at the Municipal Session Hall, Municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi, Lanao del Sur, bringing together Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), local officials, and stakeholders in promoting awareness, inclusion, and equal rights.

Activity Highlights:
• Ms. Noralina B. Oma delivered an insightful discussion on the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities (Republic Act No. 7277), emphasizing the rights, privileges, and protection guaranteed to persons with disabilities.

• Ma’am Hana shared updates on the current programs, initiatives, and concerns of the PWD sector in the Municipality of Bacolod-Kalawi.

• The event was further enlivened by a special intermission performance from the PWD participants, who proudly showcased their talents, confidence, and creativity—an inspiring testament to their abilities and invaluable contributions to the community.

The LGU of Bacolod-Kalawi remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and empowering community where every person, regardless of ability, is respected, valued, and given equal opportunities to thrive.
