“Living in Harmonious Balance”
SJO1 Marc D Ascaño, Unit Values Restoration (UVR) Officer, under the leadership of JINSP CHERRYL R GUADALQUIVER, Officer-In-Charge of Aklan DJ-MD, led the discussion on the Values Focus of the Week centered on the theme “HARMONIOUS" during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Aklan District Jail- Male Dormitory compound.
During the session, SJO1 Ascaño emphasized that HARMONIOUS describes something that is balanced, peaceful, and pleasing because all its parts work well together in agreement. By setting a positive example in their interactions with PDLs and fellow personnel, they encourage mutual respect, reduce conflict, and promote rehabilitation. This approach helps build a balanced, supportive jail community where safety, trust, and personal growth are strengthened. It is to applying harmonious behavior in ways that suit the specific jail environment and situation. It means officers communicate respectfully, enforce rules fairly, and adjust their approach based on the needs and conditions of PDL. By being consistent, understanding, and culturally sensitive, jail personnel help maintain peace, prevent conflict, and support rehabilitation-creating balanced and orderly setting where both security and human dignity are upheld.
