The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI – Western Visayas strongly warns all tourists planning to visit the region to REFRAIN FROM AND IMMEDIATELY STOP TRANSACTING with UNVERIFIED ONLINE TRAVEL AND TOURS AGENCIES offering suspiciously cheap or “too good to be true” travel packages.
DOT VI Office has received multiple complaints involving fraudulent online travel agencies using falsified DOT Accreditation Certificates and fake Local Government Unit (LGU) Business Permits to scam unsuspecting travelers.
We strongly urge affected individuals to file a formal complaint with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) to ensure proper action against these illegal activities:

The Provincial Government of Aklan was awarded a Certificate of Compliance from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for submitting the province’s Local Cultural Inventory for the year 2025, pursuant to Section 14 (b) of the amended National Cultural Heritage Act 2009 (Republic Act No. 11961) and in compliance with DILG-NCCA Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-001.

Presented by the Aklan Tourism Officers Association, Inc., in partnership with the Aklan Kamera Organization, this exhibit celebrates National Heritage Month by honoring the rich culture, traditions, history, and natural treasures of the 17 municipalities of Aklan through powerful visual storytelling.

Experience the beauty of our shared heritage and rediscover the stories, identity, and pride that make us Aklanon. Every photograph reflects a piece of Aklan’s soul — preserved and celebrated for generations to come.

The Aklan Provincial Tourism Office joins the celebration of the 9th Panagat Festival 2026 - Bayle Parada and Cultural Dance Competition held on May 7, 2026, at the Buruanga Covered Court, Poblacion, Buruanga, Aklan.

With the theme, "One Sea. One People. One Panagat.", the festival reflects the shared commitment to unite and sustain Buruanga’s marine resources.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗦𝗢𝗗 𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗪 𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗡 – 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗭 – 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 (𝟮/𝟮)

On the 28th day of April 2026 at the Aklan Provincial Capitol Facade, the provinces of Aklan, Capiz, and Romlon shared one stage to celebrate their shared identity, further strengthening their enduring bond, not only as neighboring provinces, but as communities once connected by a single umbilical cord as Kapusod provinces.

The cultural exchange was participated by the delegations and guests from Capiz, led by Governor Fredenil Castro and represented by Vice Governor Jaime O. Magbanua, together with their Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members and department heads led by Atty. Lubim Amores; from Romblon, led by Governor Trina Firmalo-Fabic and represented by Mr. Kim Anthony F. Faderon, Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer; and from Aklan, led by Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores, 1st District Representative Congressman Jesus Marquez, 2nd District Representative, Congressman Joeben T. Miraflores, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members of Aklan led by Vice Governor Dexter Calizo. Also present were Most Rev. Cyril B. Villareal; Rev. Fr. Justy More; Mrs. Gabrielle Calizo Quimpo, former Vice Governor of Aklan; Dr. Patrick Alcedo; and the Provincial Government Department Heads of Aklan.

Each province showcased a vibrant performances celebrating shared roots and heritage. The event was warmly received by the audience, with many expressing admiration for the strong sense of unity and exceptional artistry demonstrated in every performance.

From the people behind the success of this year’s Kapusod Imaw Cultural Exchange here in the Province of Aklan, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to each and everyone who have made this vision a reality.
