The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Aklan Provincial Office successfully conducted a Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) User Training for personnel of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tangalan. The activity aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in utilizing PNPKI for secure, reliable, and efficient digital transactions in government.

The training covered PNPKI orientation, application processing, installation and configuration of digital certificates, and hands-on activities on digitally signing and securing electronic documents. These activities highlighted the role of digital signatures in supporting secure and paperless government transactions.

DICT Aklan extends its appreciation to Hon. Mayor Gene T. Fuentes for making the conduct of the training possible through his support and approval of the initiative. Appreciation is likewise extended to the Sangguniang Bayan Members for their support and participation in the activity.

Through continued support from local government leaders and personnel, DICT remains committed to promoting digital trust, secure digital governance, and efficient government services through the adoption of reliable digital technologies.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Aklan Provincial Office, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Aklan, provided technical assistance during the DSWD UPLIFT Assistance Payout in Kalibo, Aklan.

As part of the activity, DICT personnel and OJTs assisted DSWD beneficiaries in downloading and setting up the eGovPH App and verifying their eGovPH accounts. This helped beneficiaries establish their digital identity and facilitated a more convenient and accessible process for accessing the assistance and services provided by DSWD.

The activity supports efforts in bringing government services closer to the people by utilizing digital technology to make processes more accessible, convenient, and efficient for Aklanons.

Through the eGovPH App, DICT continues to support communities in accessing secure, convenient, and accessible digital government services.

Nanguna ang Local Government Unit (LGU) ng Tangalan bilang unang LGU sa Aklan na nagbigay ng Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Digital Certificates sa mga pangunahing lokal na opisyal at heads of offices.

Isinagawa ang PNPKI User Training nitong Agosto 11 sa pangunguna ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)–Aklan Provincial Field Office.

Pinangunahan ni Provincial Officer Marvin Manuel ang pagsasanay na nakatuon sa proseso ng aplikasyon, identity verification, installation, configuration at activation ng PNPKI Digital Certificates.

The journey toward a more digitally empowered local government begins today.

The DICT Region VI eLGU Team officially kicks off the Day 1 of the 5-day eLGU Admin Training and System Setup for LGU Batan, Aklan, from August 10–14, 2026.

By availing the complete suite of eLGU modules—Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS), eCedula, Electronic Local Civil Registry (eLCR), and eNews - LGU Batan, Aklan takes another significant step toward modernizing its frontline services. Throughout this five-day activity, key LGU personnel will undergo hands-on training and system configuration to ensure the effective implementation and sustainability of these digital solutions.

Together, we continue to strengthen digital governance and bring more efficient, transparent, and accessible public services closer to the people of LGU Batan, AKlan.
