The Province of Aklan marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an afternoon of learning, sharing, and solidarity, featuring a health lecture, inspiring testimonies, and recognition of advocates in the fight against breast cancer.

As the Capitol glowed in pink, so did our commitment to prevention, early detection, and hope.

𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🚑

The Province of Aklan has successfully completed its Pioneer Class of the Health Emergency Response Operations (HERO) Training for Primary Care Facilities and Government and Private Hospital Health Emergency Response Teams (HERTs), held September 22–25, 2026, at Ati-Atihan Festival Hotel, Kalibo.

A proud milestone for Aklan’s healthcare and emergency preparedness!

For the first time, Aklan conducted the HERO Training at the provincial level, bringing this vital capacity-building activity closer to our local health workers and enabling more Aklanons to be trained and equipped for emergency response.

More than a training, this is an investment in preparedness, stronger health teams, and safer communities.

Together, we build a stronger, more resilient, and more prepared Aklan.

𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝘀, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🤱

The Province of Aklan, through the Aklan Provincial Health Office – Nutrition Program, in partnership with the Provincial DOH Office, celebrated Breastfeeding Month on September 22, 2026, at the Aklan Tourism and Training Center, Kalibo.

The celebration brought together IYCF Supportive Supervisors, Peer Counsellors, and Community Support Groups for a day of learning and skills-building focused on strengthening breastfeeding support across Aklan.

Through interactive discussions, workshops, and role-playing activities, participants refreshed their knowledge, enhanced their counselling skills, and gained practical tools to better support breastfeeding mothers and families.

Because breastfeeding is easier when mothers have a community behind them. 💗

Together, let’s build a more supportive, breastfeeding-friendly Aklan! 🤱

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀, 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 🏫

The Provincial Health Office, together with DepEd-Aklan, conducted technical assistance and site assessment at Mina-a Elementary School in Ibajay, Aklan, on September 22, 2026, in preparation for its Healthy Learning Institution (HLI) accreditation.

As one of Aklan’s 30 Last Mile Schools piloting HLI, Mina-a Elementary School is working towards creating an environment where health, safety, and well-being are part of every learner’s everyday experience.

Through continued collaboration, we bring health closer to our schools and communities, reaching even the farthest areas of Aklan.

Because every Aklanon learner deserves a safe, healthy, and supportive place to learn and grow. 💚

The Provincial Health Office of Aklan conducted a Peer Support Group Training for identified Peer Support Groups in the Municipality of Ibajay on September 19–20, 2026, at Ati-Atihan Festival Hotel, Kalibo.

The training aimed to equip young people with basic knowledge and practical skills in mental health and peer support, enabling them to better listen, respond, and connect fellow youth to appropriate support when needed.

As part of Aklan’s Community-Based Mental Health Program, the initiative strengthens peer support as an important part of building responsive and supportive communities for young people.

Together, let us build communities where young people feel heard, supported, and valued. 💚

The Provincial Government of Aklan, through the Provincial Health Office and Aklan Provincial Population and Gender Office, conducted a 1-Day Youth Engagement and Consultation Activity with the Apin sa Mental Health It Ibayjanon Gems (AMHIG) team on September 18, 2026, at Ati-Atihan Festival Hotel, Kalibo.

The activity aimed to equip and strengthen AMHIG in engaging young people, understanding their concerns, and providing meaningful mental health support in schools and communities.

An initiative of LGU Ibajay, AMHIG brings together employees from different departments who help supervise student peer support groups and lead mental health activities in their communities.

As Aklan’s pilot site for the Mental Health Program, Ibajay continues to strengthen community-based mental health support through empowered local partners.
