MAKARON | Airwaves for Good Governance: DILG Aklan Brings Public Services Closer Through Taeabuan it Kaaeam

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Aklan, through the Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center, in partnership with Aklan State University DYMT 100.9 FM, successfully aired the seventh episode of Taeabuan it Kaaeam—bringing governance closer to the people.

Serving as Resource Speaker, LGOO II Vincent D. Villorente delivered a comprehensive discussion on the Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod, highlighting its criteria, evaluation process, and the vital role of barangay tanods in maintaining peace and order at the community level.

Meanwhile, LGOO V Cyna Marie A. Franco and LGOO II Frenz Joshua C. Lachica anchored the program, effectively guiding the discussion and engaging listeners throughout the broadcast.

SUSTAINING LOCAL PEACE AND ORDER: DILG AKLAN CONVENES PROVINCIAL AUDIT COMMITTEE FOR THIS YEAR'S PEACE AND ORDER PERFORMANCE AUDIT

To ensure the continuous improvement and high functionality of the Municipal Peace and Order Councils in the province, DILG Aklan convened the Peace and Order Council (POC) Provincial Audit Committee today, June 2, 2026, at the DILG-Aklan Provincial Office Conference Room in Kalibo, Aklan.

Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2025-091, the committee—which features the vital and active participation of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Altavas Small Fisherfolk Association (ASFA) as member CSO—came together for a comprehensive, day-long evaluation session.

The activity kicked off with an orientation designed to update the members on current policies and audit guidelines. Following the briefing, the committee systematically verified and audited the compliance documents of all seventeen (17) Municipal POCs across the Province of Aklan.

Through strict performance audits like this, DILG Aklan and its institutional partners remain committed to maintaining public safety, encouraging good local governance, and ensuring our councils are always matino, mahusay, at maaasahan!

STUDENT INTERNSHIP CULMINATION

MAKARON | DILG-Aklan conducted the Culminating Activity of the Student Internship Program under the Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (APLGRC) on May 28, 2026.

This activity signifies the end of the internship of student interns from Aklan State University, Northwester Visayan Colleges, and STI College - Kalibo who were with the DILG-Aklan since February of this year.

Present in the culminating activity were the personnel of DILG-Aklan, partners from the Learning Resource Institutes (LRIs): ASU, NVC, and STI College Kalibo.

The interns received their respective certificates of completion and provided their impression of the Student Internship Program of the DILG-Aklan.
