The Kapangan Rural Health Unit (RHU), headed by Ms. Charmaine L. Patil-ao, PHN II, Officer-in-Charge Municipal Health Officer, in coordination with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Boklaoan, led by Hon. Weber Acosta, Barangay Chairman, successfully conducted the Man-Aabat Para si Salun-at cm Family Planning Month on August 26, 2026, in Barangay Boklaoan, Kapangan, Benguet.
The activity aimed to bring essential health services closer to the community through health promotion, disease prevention, and the provision of accessible primary healthcare services.
Health education sessions highlighting the health observances for the month of August were conducted, including:

Various health services were also provided to the residents, including medical consultations, oral examinations, dental cleaning, fluoride application, laboratory services, Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA), Pap Smear, Clinical Breast Examination, and dispensing of prescribed medicines.
MR-SIA vaccination and Vitamin A supplementation were likewise administered to eligible children aged 6β59 months as part of the activity, supporting efforts to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases and promote their nutritional well-being.
Medical consultations were conducted by Dr. Ma. Theresa Doriano, DTTB, and Dr. Maria Christine Joy D. Berto, DTTB. Dental services were provided by Dr. Farah Awakan, DOH Dentist, while laboratory services were facilitated by Ms. Portia B. Palayao, Medical Technologist. VIA, Pap Smear, and Clinical Breast Examination were conducted by Ms. Gema A. Vendiola, Rural Health Midwife, with the assistance of Ms. Verna C. Orden. Prescribed medicines were dispensed by Ms. Charmaine L. Patil-ao.
The activity served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the health sector and the community while ensuring that essential health services were made more accessible to residents at the barangay level.
The Kapangan RHU extends its sincere gratitude to the Boklaoan Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Department of Health, resource speakers, healthcare providers, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and the residents of Boklaoan for their active participation, cooperation, and unwavering support in making the Man-Aabat Para si Salun-at cm Family Planning Month a successful and meaningful community health activity.
