📍CONSULTATION WITH LA TRINIDAD INTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES

The Municipal Government of Kapangan is among the few LGUs in Benguet to create an internal auditor position in the Office of the Local Chief Executive. To be able to establish an effective Internal Audit Service and strengthen the internal audit function, there must be venues for networking and benchmarking among internal auditors in the public sector, particularly in the LGU setting.

As part of its collaboration efforts, Jeric L. Cab-ad (IAUD I), joined by Sir Abner W. Alingbas (Municipal Accountant), Ma'am Lyn B. Kiwas (ADOF IV), Ma'am Liezel B. Sumayao (ADA IV) and Sir Al R. Gomez (DRV I), paid Ma'am Lorena A. Santiago (Head of Internal Audit Services - La Trinidad) a courtesy visit to discuss matters on internal audit. Ms. Lorena kindly gave insights in the ongoing formulation of their BAICS and prior years' audits conducted.

In pursuit of service excellence and professionalization of Internal Auditing Services, LGU-La Trinidad IAS warmly welcomes its agency counterparts as LGU-Kapangan IAS as a strategic partner in industry linkage and knowledge-sharing.

📌INTERNAL CONTROL SYSTEM (ICS) & INTERNAL AUDIT

Establishing and strengthening the internal audit function of every local government unit, particularly in the Municipal Government of Kapangan has become very crucial and a challenge. With the present status of IAS/U, good planning backed by thorough research and understanding of internal audit is very important.

To spread a common understanding and appreciation of internal audit in the agency, a simple "Workshop on Internal Control System (ICS) and Orientation on Internal Audit" was held on Friday March 15, 2024 at the 4th Floor, Multipurpose and Evacuation Building, Lomon, Paykek, Kapangan, Benguet. This activity was conducted by the IAS/U in partnership with the Office of the Municipal Accountant. The said activity also aimed to inform the officials and employees of their roles and responsibilities on internal controls and internal audit.
