𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | DILG Benguet Strengthens Workforce Wellness through Physical and Mental Fitness Development Program.

“𝘈𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦,” as once said by Henry de Bracton.

Guided by this principle, the DILG Benguet conducted its Physical and Mental Fitness Development Program today, May 28, 2026, in line with its commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and camaraderie of its personnel.

The activity featured a hiking activity at Mount Kalugong, a Zumba session, and a meaningful “Sharing of Good Vibes” segment aimed at fostering positivity, teamwork, and stronger interpersonal relationships among employees.

Through initiatives such as this, the DILG Benguet continues to uphold the importance of maintaining a healthy, resilient, and motivated workforce toward the effective delivery of public service.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊| The DILG–Benguet, headed by PD Daisy A. Payang, conducted its 2nd Quarter Program Management Conference (PMC) today, May 26, 2026 at the DILG Benguet Provincial Office.

The activity gathered all DILG Benguet personnel, including newly hired Contract of Service (COS) staff, Ms. Elaine Thess A. Aviaro, Administrative Assistant II, and Mr. Marron Jay N. Orejas, Utility Worker, in line with the office’s continuing efforts to strengthen organizational coordination, enhance program implementation, and promote workforce integration.

During the conference, the office presented and discussed its second quarter 2026 accomplishments, alongside key organizational updates. Discussions also covered updates on the office’s Quality Management System (QMS) and the enhanced Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP), highlighting initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational preparedness, improving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with established standards, and sustaining quality public service delivery.

As part of the activity, MLGOO Ronnel F. Ramirez also shared his best practices and experiences on his transition from Provincial Office personnel to Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO). His presentation highlighted valuable insights on professional growth, adaptability, and public service, providing inspiration and learning opportunities for fellow personnel.

The conference likewise served as a venue for aligning provincial and field office personnel on current directives, priority programs, operational concerns, and upcoming activities of the Department to ensure the effective implementation of programs and services across the province.

Through the conduct of the 2nd Quarter PMC, the DILG Benguet continues to strengthen internal communication, promote collaborative planning, and uphold continuous organizational improvement toward the efficient, responsive, and accountable delivery of public service.

#𝐂𝐘𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔𝐑𝐂𝐒𝐏 | The DILG Benguet successfully completed the formulation and enhancement of the Barangay Development Plans (BDPs) of the thirteen (13) Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) barangays in the Province of Benguet, marking a significant milestone in its continuing efforts to strengthen participatory governance and promote inclusive local development.

As part of this accomplishment, the final batch of activities was conducted in Barangay Poblacion, Bakun on May 18–19, 2026 and Barangay Gambang, Bakun on May 20–21, 2026, completing the coverage of all identified RCSP barangays in the province.

The activities served as platforms for barangay officials, sectoral representatives, and community stakeholders to identify priority issues and translate these into responsive development interventions. Discussions underscored the continued implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) under Executive Order No. 70, advancing the Whole-of-Nation Approach through participatory governance, service convergence, and grassroots development.

Facilitated by MLGOO Mary Ann J. Griba, LGOO V Jerielle D. Gayaso, and MPDC Elizabeth M. Talawa, the sessions focused on enhancement of the barangays’ BDPs. Technical assistance was provided to the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs) in integrating community-identified priorities and formulating responsive Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) aligned with local development goals.

#𝐂𝐘𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒𝐒𝐆𝐋𝐆 | The DILG-Benguet participated in the official turnover and blessing ceremony for the newly acquired LGU Emergency Response Vehicle of the Municipality of Kibungan held today, May 25, 2026. The acquisition was funded through the FY 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) with a total allocation of Php 1,153,000.00, complemented by a Php 445,000.00 counterpart from the Local Government Unit. The project is expected to further enhance the municipality’s emergency response capability and strengthen the delivery of timely, reliable, and efficient public safety services to its constituents.

The DILG-CAR Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, represented by Provincial Director Daisy A. Payang, CESO V, conveyed his warm congratulations to the Municipality of Kibungan for the successful implementation of the project. He emphasized that the turnover ceremony signifies more than the acquisition of a new vehicle, as it reflects the municipality’s strengthened capacity to respond to emergencies, disasters, medical needs, and rescue situations, particularly in far-flung and hard-to-reach communities. He further underscored that the SGLG Incentive Fund serves as a recognition of local government units that uphold the principles of good governance, accountability, transparency, and effective public service delivery, translating these into tangible projects that directly benefit the people.

Municipal Officials headed by Mayor Agustin J. Tello likewise expressed their gratitude to all whose collective support contributed to the successful implementation of the project. The acquisition of the emergency response vehicle stands as a testament to the municipality’s dedication to upholding the principles of the Seal of Good Local Governance by ensuring that incentive funds are translated into responsive, people-centered, and life-saving public service initiatives.

DILG-CAR proudly celebrates the exemplary performance of Local Government Units across the Cordillera Administrative Region in the CY 2026 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment.

Out of eighty-three (83) LGUs assessed, seventy-three (73) achieved the IDEAL Level of Functionality, reflecting strong and effective child protection systems at the local level. The remaining LGUs were assessed under the MATURE and PROGRESSIVE Levels, demonstrating sustained efforts toward continuously strengthening LCPC structures, policies, and service delivery for children.

This accomplishment underscores the unwavering commitment of LGUs in advancing responsive, inclusive, and rights-based governance for children through strengthened Local Councils for the Protection of Children.
DILG-CAR extends its sincere appreciation to all Local Government Units and partner stakeholders for their dedication and collective efforts in ensuring the promotion, protection, and fulfillment of every child’s rights and welfare in the region.
