TOP REGIONAL AND PROVINCIAL MOST WANTED PERSONS FALL IN PRO 9 MANHUNT OPERATIONS

Police Regional Office (PRO) 9 further strengthened its campaign against wanted persons following the arrest of three individuals listed among the Most Wanted Persons at the regional, provincial, and municipal levels in separate manhunt operations in Zamboanga City and Zamboanga del Sur.

At around 8:31 PM on September 3, 2026, in Zone 4, Barangay Ayala, Zamboanga City, where personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station (ZCPS) 9, together with Regional Unit 9, 904th Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, and the Regional Intelligence Division 9, conducted a joint operation against a wanted person.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old male, a resident of Zamboanga City, who was listed as the Top 9 Most Wanted Person at the Regional Level of PRO 9, Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level, and Top 4 Most Wanted Person at the Municipal Level.

The accused was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 14, Zamboanga City, dated May 11, 2026, for R**e under Article 266-A(1) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353, otherwise known as the “Anti-R**e Law of 1997.”

Earlier, at around 3:53 AM on September 2, 2026, personnel of Midsalip Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ZSPIU) and the 53rd Infantry Battalion (IB), Philippine Army (PA), conducted a manhunt operation in Barangay Poblacion B Proper, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old male, a resident of Midsalip, who was listed as the Top 10 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level.

The accused was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, dated August 19, 2026, for Statutory R**e under Article 266-A in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code.

Meanwhile, at around 2:38 AM on the same date, another manhunt operation conducted by the ZSPIU, Midsalip MPS, and the 53rd IB, PA, in Barangay Poblacion A Proper, Midsalip, resulted in the arrest of a 64-year-old male, also a resident of Midsalip.

The arrested individual was listed as the Top 7 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level and was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the same court, dated August 19, 2026, for Statutory R**e.

“We will remain relentless in pursuing wanted persons and ensuring that those accused of violating the law are brought before the proper courts. Our law enforcement operations will continue to be intelligence-driven, coordinated, and firmly grounded on the rule of law and respect for human rights,” Police Brigadier General Elmer E Ragay, Regional Director, PRO 9 said.

PRO 9 remains steadfast in its intensified campaign against wanted persons and all forms of criminality. At 11:10 AM on September 3, 2026, personnel of the Siocon Municipal Police Station (Siocon
MPS), as the lead unit, together with the 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd ZNPMFC), conducted a joint intelligence-driven operation at Barangay A.L.
Micubo, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, resulting in the arrest of a 35-year-old male, listed as the Top 2 Most Wanted Person at the municipal level.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Attempted Homicide in relation to Violation of Section 5(A) of Republic Act No. 9262, docketed under Criminal Case No. 2024-11-17(2877). The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 27, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, dated November 19, 2024, with recommended bail of P36,000.00.

The arrested person was informed of the nature and cause of his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language known and understood by him. He is currently under the custody of the Siocon MPS for proper disposition and appropriate legal proceedings.

FRUSTRATED HOMICIDE FUGITIVE ELUDES LAW FOR 23 YEARS—ARRESTED IN ALBAY

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a fugitive wanted for Frustrated Homicide after 23 years of evading arrest in Albay on September 4, 2026.

Alias “Cardo” was arrested by personnel of the Tabaco City Police Station in Barangay Bombon, Tabaco City, during the PRO 5 Warrant Day Operation. He was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court on March 10, 2003 for Frustrated Homicide.

After his arrest, “Cardo” was brought to the City Health Unit for medical examination before being placed under the custody of the Tabaco City Police Station for proper disposition.

“Twenty-three years of evasion did not erase the responsibility attached to this case. Our personnel will remain persistent in locating those who are wanted and bringing them before the proper authorities,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi hadlang ang mahabang panahon sa pagpapatupad ng batas. Ang bawat warrant ay dapat maisagawa at ang bawat akusado ay dapat humarap sa tamang proseso,” he added.

The operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through the sustained enforcement of outstanding warrants and pursuit of wanted persons.

The arrest reflects the PNP’s sustained efforts to locate fugitives and enforce outstanding warrants, regardless of how long they have remained at large.

TRUST BETRAYED: HOUSEMAID, CARETAKER FALL IN ₱4.69-MILLION THEFT CASES

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a housemaid and a caretaker in separate operations in Quezon City and Manila after they allegedly stole luxury items and cash from the residences where they were entrusted to work.

In Barangay Nayong Kanluran, Quezon City, Masambong Police Station 2 (PS2-QCPD) arrested a 19-year-old female housemaid after her employer discovered the disappearance of six luxury watches, 43 pieces of assorted jewelry, and ₱500,000.00 in cash, with a combined estimated value of ₱4.5 million.

During the investigation, the suspect allegedly admitted taking the valuables and turning them over to an unidentified man waiting outside the residence aboard a ride-hailing vehicle. She claimed that she was deceived into believing that her employer had figured in a car accident and that the valuables were urgently needed for medical expenses. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and pursuing leads to identify the other individual involved and recover the stolen property.

In a separate operation in Barangay 163, Tondo, Manila, Jose Abad Santos Police Station (PS7-MPD) arrested a 28-year-old male caretaker for allegedly taking cash from his employer’s residence. A witness reportedly caught the suspect taking money from a cabinet inside the complainant’s room, leading to his immediate arrest. Police recovered ₱20,000.00 from his possession, while another ₱170,000.00 intended for electricity payment was discovered missing.

Both suspects face complaints for Qualified Theft under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code. The Manila suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and underwent mandatory medical examination before being brought to the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of the appropriate complaint.

The operations highlight the PNP’s commitment to protecting the public and holding offenders accountable. The PNP Focused Agenda advances this effort through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, strengthening police action against criminality and ensuring timely law enforcement response.

“Criminal acts committed against those who have placed their trust in others will not be overlooked. The PNP will pursue every lead, hold offenders accountable, and work to recover property taken from victims,” PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez said.

PNP NETS BARANGAY CHAIRMAN, 2 OTHERS IN VISAYAS ILLEGAL FI****MS RAIDS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested three male suspects and recovered five illegal fi****ms, a fragmentation gr***de, and assorted ammunition in separate operations across the Visayas from September 1 to 3, 2026.

In Samar, RTF “KAMURAYAW,” together with the Samar Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Sta. Margarita Municipal Police Station, implemented a search warrant in Brgy. Mabuhay, Sta. Margarita, on September 1. The operation resulted in the arrest of alias “Naldo,” 38, Filipino, a barangay chairman, and the recovery of one .45 caliber pistol with two magazines containing 13 live rounds and one M16 rifle with a defaced serial number and a magazine loaded with 20 live rounds of 5.56 ammunition.

Alias “Naldo” failed to present documents authorizing the lawful possession of the .45 caliber pistol. The search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court of Calbayog City on August 24, 2026, and the suspect was arrested for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

In Iloilo, the CIDG Regional Field Unit 6 Special Operations Team, together with the CIDG Iloilo Provincial Field Unit, CIDG Iloilo City Field Unit, and territorial police units, implemented a search warrant in Brgy. Jibolo, Janiuay, on September 2. The operation led to the arrest of the male subject of the warrant and the seizure of a .45 caliber pistol, .38 revolver, 12-gauge homemade shotgun, magazines, and ammunition.

In Capiz, the CIDG Capiz Provincial Field Unit, with the Provincial Intelligence Team of Capiz, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, and territorial police unit, conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Banica, Roxas City, on September 3. The operation resulted in the arrest of another male suspect and the recovery of a .45 caliber pistol, a fragmentation gr***de, magazine, and ammunition.

The three suspects failed to present the required permits or licenses to own and possess fi****ms, while the seized fi****ms were not duly registered with the Fi****ms and Explosives Office of the Philippine National Police. The arrested suspects and recovered items were brought to the appropriate police units for documentation, proper disposition, and legal proceedings.

“Every illegal firearm removed from circulation reduces the opportunity for these weapons to be used in violence and other crimes. We will keep pursuing cases like these through lawful operations and make sure that violators are held accountable,” PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said.

“Hindi sapat na makumpiska ang mga armas; mahalaga ring mapanagot ang mga taong lumalabag sa batas. Walang dapat magtago ng baril o granada nang walang kaukulang pahintulot,” he added.

3-YEAR MANHUNT ENDS: NATIONAL MOST WANTED PERSON IN R**E CASE WITH ₱130K REWARD ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a National Most Wanted Person wanted for r**e, ending nearly three years of evasion after the 23-year-old suspect was located in Porac, Pampanga on September 4, 2026.

The male suspect, a solar panel installer and resident of Barangay Palat, Porac, Pampanga, was apprehended by operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office Regional Intelligence Division (NCRPO-RID) by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 in Angeles City, Pampanga. He was identified as a DILG Most Wanted Person and No. 10 Provincial Level Most Wanted Person of Pampanga, with a monetary reward of ₱130,000.00.

The case stemmed from an alleged r**e committed on February 5, 2023, during a birthday gathering at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Anunas, Pampanga. The suspect and the victim, who were friends, had been drinking alcoholic beverages during the gathering when the alleged incident occurred.

The suspect was arrested the following day by personnel of Anunas Police Station but allegedly escaped from police custody in March 2023. He fled to Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City, where he stayed at his grandfather’s residence for about a week before returning to Pampanga and moving between different areas to evade authorities.

During his period of evasion, the suspect allegedly obtained construction-related work and later assisted in solar panel installation. He was also provided accommodation at a rest house in Barangay Palat, Porac, which eventually became his temporary residence.

The manhunt intensified through nearly a month of intelligence gathering, surveillance, social media exploitation, technical analysis, and validation. Operatives initially pursued information that placed the suspect at a construction site in Mabalacat, but he had already left the area. The teams then tracked leads connected to his family and checked several possible locations in Angeles City and Pampanga before finally establishing his presence in Barangay Palat.

After nearly two days of sustained surveillance and casing operations, the operating teams proceeded to the identified location and arrested the suspect by virtue of the standing warrant. The Return of the Warrant of Arrest is being prepared for submission to the issuing court for proper disposition.

“Running from the law for years does not erase accountability. We will remain relentless in locating wanted persons and bringing them before the courts to face the charges against them,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi hadlang ang tagal ng pagtatago para takasan ang batas. Darating ang panahon na haharap sa hustisya ang sinumang may pananagutan,” he added.

The operation reflects the PNP Focused Agenda, a framework for transformation that strengthens police service through intelligence-led action and accountability. It supports Enhanced Managing Police Operations by sustaining focused efforts to locate and apprehend wanted persons.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the NCRPO-RID custodial facility at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City, while awaiting the issuance of the necessary Commitment Orders from the issuing courts.
