We are inviting young people from Kawayan, ages 18–30, to join Angat Kalikasan sa Kawayan: Young Leaders Assembly for Environmental Governance on September 23–26, 2026.

This is a space to learn, listen, connect, and share ideas on the environmental concerns we see in our communities.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Kawayan Fiesta Executive Committee (ExeCom) conducted a meeting yesterday, September 4, at the Mayor’s Conference Room, Municipal Building.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Mayor Rodolfo J. Espina, Vice Mayor Jake S. Espina, and the respective committee members.

Discussions focused on preparations and coordination for the upcoming Kawayan Fiesta, ensuring the smooth implementation of the planned activities and celebrations.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Flag Retreat Ceremony attended by department heads, Vice Mayor Jake Espina, LGU employees, and GIP workers held this afternoon, September 4, at the Kawayan Municipal Grounds.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Eleven (11) probationers commenced their three-day Therapeutic Community Ladderized Program (TCLP) Phase 1 – Orientation today, September 4, at the Conference Room, Legislative Building.

Through the Therapeutic Community approach, participants are guided toward responsible decision-making and successful reintegration into their families and communities as productive members of society.

The activity was conducted by the Biliran Parole and Probation Office with the support of the Local Government Unit of Kawayan, highlighting the shared commitment of government agencies and the local government in supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of probationers.

Municipal Vice Mayor Jake S. Espina also attended the activity and expressed his support for initiatives that promote personal transformation and help probationers become responsible and productive members of the community.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | A Consultative Meeting on the proposed Seal of Good Youth Governance (SGYG) Ordinance was conducted today, September 3, at the Caucus Room, Legislative Building.

The SGYG is a merit-based recognition program that aims to acknowledge and reward the exemplary performance, good governance practices, and outstanding contributions of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in the Municipality of Kawayan, Biliran.

The consultative meeting was attended by Hon. Jake S. Espina, Municipal Vice Mayor; Ms. Sarah Jean V. Leones, Local Youth Development Officer II/ Municipal Budget Officer-Designate; Mr. Dexter C. Narrido, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer; and, Mr. Stephen Nee N. Jadulco, Municipal Accountant.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Local Government Unit of Kawayan conducted its regular Flag Raising Ceremony on September 1, 2026, at the Municipal Grounds. The activity was attended by Municipal Mayor Rodolfo J. Espina, Vice Mayor Jake S. Espina, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, municipal employees, and Government Internship Program (GIP) workers.

Municipal Human Resource Management Officer Sarah Jane M. Dela Peña announced that the Municipality of Kawayan joins the nationwide celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), with the theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.”

The celebration recognizes the unwavering dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions of every public servant in delivering quality service to the Filipino people.

Alinsunod sa Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025, ang Agosto 31, 2026 ay itinakda bilang National Heroes Day.
