The Ceremonial Turn-Over of the newly constructed Barangay Salakit Multi-Purpose Building in Salakit, Kiamba, held on August 20, 2026, marked a significant milestone for the local communityโa celebration of progress, partnership, and strengthened public service.
The newly completed two-storey facility is designed to serve as a center for barangay governance, community programs, meetings, and essential public services. More than just a structure, it represents the continuing commitment to bringing accessible and responsive governance closer to the people of Barangay Salakit.
The program formally commenced with a welcome address from Barangay Captain Hon. Onofre Donato, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the realization of the project. He emphasized the importance of the new facility in creating a more conducive environment for delivering quality public service and implementing programs for the benefit of the community.
A project briefing was then presented by Engr. Albert Olarte, who discussed the construction process, features, and intended functions of the building. The modern facility provides functional spaces for offices, meetings, and various community activities. The project was made possible through funding under the office of Congressman Hon. Steve Chiongbian Solon, reflecting the importance of collaboration in advancing local development.
Messages of support and appreciation were delivered by local leaders, including Congressman Hon. Steve Chiongbian Solon and Municipal Mayor Hon. George โJong-Jongโ Falgui, who underscored the significance of the project in strengthening local governance and improving the quality of life of the people of Salakit.
The ceremony was also graced by Vice Mayor Hon. Marie Jess M. Ancheta, the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Board Member Hon. Cornelio Martinez, together with barangay officials, community members, educators, and other distinguished guests.
The highlight of the occasion was the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, held at the entrance of the newly constructed building. The symbolic act marked the official turn-over and opening of the facility, witnessed with pride and excitement by the people of Barangay Salakit.
The new Barangay Salakit Multi-Purpose Building now stands as a lasting symbol of progress, unity, partnership, and unwavering commitment to public service. It is a facility that will not only house government services but will also become a venue where programs, ideas, and community initiatives come together for the betterment of every Salakitanon.
