Mlang MPS Conduct COMELEC Checkpoint in Bialong, Cotabato

Mlang MPS personnel led by PCPT DIOMEDES G BARUC, Deputy Chief of Police together with the 40 IB, Philippine Army, conducted a COMELEC checkpoint at COMPAC Bialong, Mlang, Cotabato. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure peace and order during the election period.

Man Arrested for Blackmailing Ex-Girlfriend with Explicit Photos

On February 14, 2025, at about 10:00 PM, operatives of Women and Children Cybercrime Protection Unit (WCCPU) conducted an entrapment operation that led to the arrest of a 32-year-old male suspect for threatening to spread the victim’s explicit photos.

The suspect is facing charges for violations of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act), both in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

Brigadier General Bernard R. Yang, Acting Director of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), commended the unit for the successful operation. He also emphasized, β€œBlackmail and coercion using sensitive content are serious crimes punishable by law, carrying severe fines and imprisonment. Let this arrest serve as a strong warning to those who exploit others through digital means will face the full force of justice.”
