June 4, 2026 โ The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Cotabato, under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Romelito G. Flores, CESO V, formally received and accepted the first batch of 220 sets of tables and armchairs for Kindergarten learners from the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) during a Turnover and Acceptance Ceremony held at the SDO Cotabato Office, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City.
The donation forms part of EDC's continuing commitment to support quality education and provide a more conducive learning environment for young learners in the division. Representing EDC during the ceremony was Ms. Karen Kay A. Abbarientos of the Corporate Relations Department. The activity was also graced by Governor Emmylou โLalaโ Talino-Mendoza, MNSA, whose presence highlighted the importance of collaborative partnerships in advancing educational development.
The beneficiary schools that received the donated Kindergarten tables and armchairs were:

Bongolanon Elementary School, Magpet
Sallab Elementary School, Magpet
Batasan Elementary School, Makilala
New Israel Elementary School, Makilala
Jose Rizal Elementary School, Makilala

The ceremony was attended by Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS)/ Principal Incharge (PICs), school heads, PTA Presidents, and Barangay Captains from the recipient schools, demonstrating the collective commitment of stakeholders toward improving learning conditions for learners.
In his message, SDS Flores expressed his heartfelt gratitude to EDC and all partners for their generosity and unwavering support to the education sector. He emphasized that the donation will greatly contribute to enhancing classroom facilities and ensuring that Kindergarten learners have access to comfortable and learner-friendly furniture.
The turnover ceremony served as a testament to the power of partnership and shared responsibility in creating better opportunities and learning experiences for the children of Cotabato Province.
