DILG South Cotabato Participates in Coordination Meetings on LGSF-FALGU and LGSF-Green Green Green Program

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) South Cotabato participated in coordination meetings with the concerned offices of the Province of South Cotabato on August 17–18, 2026, focusing on the pre-implementation of the ₱122-million road concreting project under the LGSF-Financial Assistance to LGUs (LGSF-FALGU) and the implementation of the ₱10-million Construction of Sports Complex under the LGSF-Green Green Green Program.

The meetings aimed to discuss project implementation concerns, technical requirements, and necessary compliance measures to ensure the effective implementation of the projects.

DILG South Cotabato Provincial Team Conference

The DILG South Cotabato Provincial Team conducted its Provincial Team Conference on August 18, 2026, 1:00PM, at Habi Hotel, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato, led by our beloved Provincial Director Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib.

The conference served as an important venue for the Provincial Team to discuss updates, assess accomplishments, address emerging concerns, and strengthen coordination in the implementation of various DILG programs and initiatives.

The activity commenced with the Opening Message of Provincial Director Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib, who emphasized the importance of teamwork, commitment, and effective coordination among personnel in fulfilling the mandate of the Department.

Among the highlights of the conference was the Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) Updates on the Partial SUBAYBAYAN Assessment Results, which provided the team with an overview of the current assessment and areas requiring continued monitoring and improvement. Updates from the respective Focal Persons were also presented, particularly on PalengQRPH, Turnover on Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE), SICAP-BADAC, Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) ANGAT, and Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program (BBMP), highlighting the progress, concerns, and next steps for the effective implementation of these programs and initiatives.

The Administrative and Finance Section likewise presented updates on administrative requirements and the financial status of fund utilization, providing the team with a clearer picture of compliance, resource utilization, and pending administrative and financial concerns. These discussions reinforced the importance of timely submission, proper documentation, and prudent utilization of government resources.

The Provincial Team Conference provided a meaningful opportunity for the DILG South Cotabato Provincial Team to strengthen communication, align priorities, and ensure that commitments and action points are clearly understood and carried forward. Through the leadership of Provincial Director Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib, the team remains committed to working together with dedication and professionalism in advancing good governance and delivering responsive support to the local government units and communities of South Cotabato.

Third-Party Monitoring Activity – LGU Tampakan

On August 17–18, 2026, a Third-Party Monitoring Activity was conducted in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Tampakan, South Cotabato, covering the barangays of Palo, Danlag, Pula-Bato, and Tablu.

The activity focused on the inspection and validation of completed projects under the Local Government Support Fund–Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) FY 2024 and FY 2024 Unprogrammed Appropriations (UA). Site visits were conducted to verify the projects' completion, condition, and utilization, with observations gathered from concerned barangay officials and stakeholders.

The activity supported the proper documentation, validation, and assessment of completed projects and provided an opportunity to verify their accomplishments and current status.

Orientation on the Local Health Board (LHB) Guidebook for C/MLGOOs of South Cotabato

The Provincial Department of Health Office – South Cotabato, under the leadership of Marilou Barbara T. Libatique, MD, MCH, DMO V/PDOHO-SC, conducted an Orientation on the Local Health Board (LHB) Guidebook on August 18, 2026, at Habi Hotel, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the C/MLGOOs on the mandate, organization, and functions of the LHB, and its vital role in strengthening local health governance.

The Orientation commenced with the Acknowledgment of Participants led by Outcome Manager Jermie A. Erie-Yeager, followed by a Welcome Message and Message of Support from our Provincial Director, Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib. His message highlighted the importance of collaboration, coordination, and active participation among stakeholders in ensuring effective local health governance and the delivery of quality health services.

The orientation featured the presentation of the Background and Rationale of the LHB Guidebook by Dr. Marilou Barbara T. Libatique, MD, MCH, DMO V/PDOHO-SC. This was followed by discussions on Chapter 1: Legal Foundations of the LHB and Chapter 2: Organizing the LHB and Functions of the LHB, presented by Ms. Mary Agnes A. Panton, RN, MPA, DMO IV.

The succeeding session on Chapter 3: Functions of the LHB was presented by Mr. Mohammad Zein B. Kali, RN, MPA, DMO IV, providing participants with a deeper appreciation of the responsibilities and functions of the LHB in local health planning, coordination, policy development, and implementation of health programs and services.

Overall, the undertaking served as a meaningful avenue for strengthening the capacity of stakeholders and promoting a better understanding of the Local Health Board as a key mechanism for collaborative and responsive local health governance. Through strengthened partnership and shared responsibility, stakeholders remain committed to advancing accessible, quality, and sustainable health services for the people of South Cotabato.

DILG South Cotabato Turns Over Apprentices to Assigned LGUs for Supervised Field Work

After successfully completing their assigned outputs with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, the two LGOO II Apprentices of DILG South Cotabato are now taking the next step in their learning journey as they begin their Supervised Field Work (SFW) in their respective Local Government Units.

DILG South Cotabato Provincial Director Hayd-Ali S. Suwaib, together with Outcome Manager Jermie A. Erie-Yeager and Program Manager Chrysanthea D. Zorilla, led the turnover of the apprentices to their assigned LGUs.

LGOO II Jade E. Jandoc will undertake her Supervised Field Work in the Municipality of Polomolok, while LGOO II Apprentice Karyn Jane S. Dolido will be assigned to the City of Koronadal.

They were warmly welcomed in their respective LGUs by Municipal Mayor Hon. Bernie D. Palencia, and MLGOO Eleanor C. Magbanua in the Municipality of Polomolok, and City Mayor Hon. Erlinda P. Araquil, and CLGOO Jennifer C. Fernandez in the City of Koronadal, as they begin their hands-on field experience in local governance.

Through the SFW, the apprentices will bring their learnings into actual field practice, gain firsthand experience in local governance, and work closely with their assigned LGUs. As they begin this new chapter, DILG South Cotabato wishes Jade and Karyn Jane a meaningful and fruitful field experience filled with learning, growth, and opportunities to serve.
