Last Friday, September 20, 2024, the sala of Labor Arbiter Hon. Ma. Lourdes Romelli D. Juliano facilitated the payment of a respondent to the labor claims of their employee-complainants. The respondent fully paid and satisfied the award due to 5 security guards in a decision written by Hon. Juliano in the amount of P225,506.00.

12 Farm Workers from different towns in Cotabato Province claimed their checks representing their judgment award at NLRC RAB XII Koronadal City last August 28, 2024. The aggregate amount that the complainants received is P120,000.00.

The National Labor Relations Commission En Banc led by Hon. Grace E. Maniquiz-Tan conducted its regular session in Grand Summit Hotel, General Santos City last August 15, 2024 to August 16, 2024. Together with the Chairperson, Presiding Commissioners, Commissioners, Executive Clerks of Court of different divisions, Directors and Technical Working Group of NLRC came to General Santos City being the venue of the said activity.

As provided in the Labor Code of the Philippines, as amended, the Commission may sit en banc for the purpose of promulgating rules and regulations governing the disposition of cases and formulating policies affecting its administration and operation. The En Banc session also aims to engage with regional stakeholders and address the challenges faced by both employees and employers nationwide.

In their 2-day session, the Commission has deliberated and agreed on various significant matters. This includes policy reviews and implementation of new initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of labor dispute resolution. One of the discussions of the En Banc focused on the accessibility of NLRC Services to workers in remote areas, ensuring that the Commission is responsive to the need of all sectors of the society.
Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan together with Presiding Commissioners and Commissioners visited NLRC SRAB XII, General Santos City office last August 16, 2024. Dubbed as RAB Visitation, the executives of NLRC visited Regional Arbitration Branches/Sub-Regional Arbitration Branches to personally know the situation in RABs/SRABs, to gather ideas about the distinct labor challenges workers/employers encounter and for them to determine what policies and initiatives they could intervene to assist the regional offices in the speedy resolution and disposition of labor cases. The officers and employees of NLRC SRAB XII Gensan gladly and warmly welcomed the NLRC Execs.

In 50 years, since the founding of NLRC, it was the first time that NLRC Region 12 hosted NLRC En Banc. Chairperson Maniquiz-Tan underscored that NLRC’s presence in Gensan reflected its dedication to ensure accessibility and attentiveness to the needs of workers and employer across the country. Furthermore, the Chairperson noted that holding the session in General Santos City demonstrated the Commission’s commitment to engage with regions outside Metro Manila.

Hon. Jocelyn A. Vasallo, the Executive Labor Arbiter of NLRC RAB XII took the challenge in hosting the En Banc Session. With the guidance of NLRC Eight Division and with the assistance also of NLRC RAB XI, the hosting went well as planned.

NLRC RAB 12's LAA Pobleo B. Allera serves as one of the resource persons to the Training on the Enforcement, Ex*****on and Satisfaction of Labor Standards, Orders and Resolution as spearheaded by Department of Labor and Employment Region 12. The training is being held at Grand Summit Hotel, General Santos City. Today, Allera shares his insights to the atendees about the topic of Service of Writ of Ex*****on and Modes of Executing Writs of Ex*****on as provided by the 2011 NLRC Rules of Procedures.

KORONADAL CITY-The sala of Labor Arbiter Hon.
Ma. Lourdes Romelli D. Juliano facilitated the settlement of a technical sales representative of his labor claims from his company. As a process of compulsory arbitration, a worker from Surallah, South Cotabato amicably settled to his employer last August 23, 2023.

NLRC SRAB XII General Santos City facilitated several settlements of labor disputes for the first 10 days of August 2023.

The sala of Hon. Executive Labor Arbiter Jocelyn A. Vasallo was busy in facilitation of settlements of labor disputes from August 1, 2023 to August 10, 2023. In fact on August 04, 2023, through walk-in settlement, a female worker from GSC has received her settlement from her employer in the amount of P1,114,335.45. While on August 07, 2023 and August 10, 2023 both 3 and 7 workers have settled their claims with their respondent employer respectively.

NLRC SRAB XII General Santos City fulfilled its mandate to promote and maintaim industrial peace by resolving labor and management disputes through compulsory arbitration and alternative modes of dispute resolution.

ENDING THE MONTH OF JULY WITH SETTLEMENTS

General Santos City-NLRC SRAB XII facilitated two settlements of labor disputes under the sala of Executive Labor Arbiter Hon. Jocelyn A. Vasallo on the last day of July 2023. One settlement is through mandatory concilition-mediation. In which, 3 security guards from General Santos City settled their claims from their agency. On the other hand, through walk-in settlement, a worker who also hailed from the same city has settled his labor dispute from his company.
