AUGUST 05, 2026—Yesterday marked a new chapter of service for DAR SoCot's newly appointed and promoted personnel, who took their oath of office before Regional Director Mariannie S. Lauban-Baunto in a ceremony held at the DAR Regional Office XII, Koronadal City.

In her message, PARPO II Valerie F. Seiton reminded everyone that good working relationships make all the difference, stressing that harmony and mutual respect among colleagues lay the groundwork for quality public service. Regional Director Mariannie S. Lauban-Baunto also shared a heartfelt piece of advice, encouraging the appointees—whether newly hired or promoted—to lead with kindness in everything they do, reminding them that good deeds, no matter how small, always find their way back.

DAR South Cotabato welcomes its newest members with pride, looking forward to the passion and dedication they will bring to serving the province's farming communities.

𝗔 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵!

DAR South Cotabato began the month with hearts full of gratitude through its Monday Convocation, a Holy Mass, and the blessing of two newly acquired service vehicles for the agency today, August 03, 2026, at Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

During the convocation, divisions and DARMOs discussed the latest developments on their ongoing programs and projects, and shared concerns they continue to address in the field. Updates on employee benefits and available services were also presented, including the status of HMO enrollment, with a call for its faster processing to ensure employees can access benefits without delay. The agency also formally announced the acquisition of two new service vehicles through Project SPLIT.

As the office welcomes the new vehicles into its fleet, PARPO II Valerie F. Seiton expressed gratitude for the ways it will help reach more farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries in South Cotabato, respond faster to their concerns, and serve them even better.

DAR South Cotabato extends its sincere gratitude for the generosity and unwavering trust in its mission, and looks forward to carrying this renewed sense of purpose into the work ahead! 🌾

𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

The Barangay Tinago Communal Irrigators Association, Inc. (BTCIA, Inc.) received one (1) unit of rice reaper, one (1) unit rice thresher, and five (5) units of two-in-one knapsack sprayers amounting to P300k in a turnover ceremony held yesterday, July 30, at Brgy. Tinago, Norala, South Cotabato.

During the ceremony, PARPO II Valerie F. Seiton represented by PARPO I Thong C. Tambak gave his message of support emphasizing the far-reaching impact of the project on the community.

Meanwhile, CARPO-PBDD Lorna N. Garde challenged the BTCIA, Inc. members to remain active and to continue fulfilling their responsibilities to the association.

"Ine-expect ng DAR na tinutulungan kayo para kayo rin mismo ang mag-angat sa sarili inyo. Hindi kahinaan ang edad. Hindi porket 59 and above na tayo, hindi na tayo pwedeng kumilos. Dapat i-maintain natin 'yong activity natin sa bahay, sa opisina, at sa ating asosasyon," she said.

Representatives from the DAR Municipal Office of Norala and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Tinago were also present and gave their utmost support to the project.

In his message of acceptance, Mr. Rocky D. Balleras, president of BTCIA, Inc., expressed the association's gratitude for the support and its openness to DAR's suggestion to transform the association into a cooperative.

For the association members who depend on rice production as their primary source of income, the machinery will help cut labor costs, speed up harvest and post-harvest activities, and improve overall yield, which offers a meaningful step toward more efficient and resilient farming.

This initiative is under the Sustainable Livelihood Support for Disaster-Affected Area (SLSDAA) component of the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP).

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗢 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼

Selected Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) in South Cotabato sat down with representatives from government agencies for a two-day round of field monitoring, validation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) from July 28 to 29, 2026, in Banga and in Surallah.

The validation covered the Makarios Diversified Farmers Association, the Centrala Alternative Medicine Producers Cooperative (CAMPC), and the Rizal 3 SN Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, with representatives from the Department of Agrarian Reform Central Office (DARCO), Regional Office (DARRO) XII, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) South Cotabato conducting on-site assessments.

The participants took part in the FGD and shared firsthand accounts of their enterprise operations, including the challenges they continue to face and the opportunities they see for further growth. Through the field monitoring, the team evaluated the interventions provided to each ARBO and gathered ground-level feedback to identify issues and recommendations that will help improve its implementation and will ensure that the support extended to farmer organizations translates into real and sustained enterprise growth.

This activity forms part of the Regional DAR-DTI-CARP-DOST Synchronized Assessment and Planning Session that integrates the ARBO's best practices, challenges, and innovation to strengthen the Village-Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project implementation and sustainability of their enterprises.

The proposed Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) Project in Brgy. Linan, Tupi underwent an on-site validation and stakeholder consultation yesterday, July 23, marking another step towards better access to farms and markets for agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).

The activity aimed to validate the proposed road alignment, to assess the socio-economic conditions of the area, and to gather stakeholders' insight through participatory consultations led by representatives from the Tupi Coffee Growers Association, Inc. (TUCOGAI), the barangay local government unit (BLGU), the Municipal Government of Tupi, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)- South Cotabato.

Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) were conducted with ARBs residing within and outside the road influence area who are expected to benefit from other existing and proposed FMR projects, which are part of the Department of Agrarian Reform's (DAR) Value Chain Innovation for Sustainable Transformation in Agrarian Reform Communities (VISTA) Project.

The stakeholders also shared valuable recommendations to ensure that the project effectively addresses the needs of farming communities while it promotes inclusive and sustainable rural development.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) South Cotabato marked the 38th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) today, July 20, with the culmination of CARP Fest 2026 at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center, Koronadal City.

The day-long celebration opened with a motorcade around the city, followed by a mass, a Zumba session, and the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Awarding Ceremony, which recognized DAR SoCot's employees for their outstanding and exemplary performance for CY 2025-2026.

In her inspirational message, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) Valerie F. Seiton expressed excitement over the milestone celebration, which the employees have also been looking forward to, especially with the office's recent recognition for its performance in the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.

"I was reminded that DARPO South Cotabato was commended during our assessment na tayo ang number one sa Mindanao at nationwide for the SPLIT implementation and distribution accomplishment. We really have to celebrate, and probably for this year, magiging top one parin ang DARPO South Cotabato with the help of everyone in this journey," she added.

PARPO II Seiton emphasized that the celebration was not just about the current milestones but also a moment to look back on the program's decades-long impact.

Following the morning program, the celebration moves into its afternoon leg with the basketball and the volleyball championship matches, as teams who have battled through the elimination rounds now vie for the top honors of CARP Fest 2026.

The festivities will culminate this evening with a Sociocultural Night that will showcase the talents of DAR South Cotabato employees, capping off a day of camaraderie, recognition, and celebration.
