Day 2 of the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 featured a meaningful series of lectures designed to equip young volunteers with practical knowledge, awareness, and life skills that they can bring back to their communities.

The session was facilitated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐒. 𝐔𝐬𝐨𝐩, 𝐂𝐩𝐄, 𝐄𝐌𝐓 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 – 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫, providing participants with valuable insights on first aid, emergency response, and the importance of being prepared during times of crisis and disaster.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐅𝐏) – 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐅𝐎𝟐 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐎. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐚,shared essential fire safety tips and preventive measures. The session emphasized the importance of fire prevention, preparedness, and responsible action in keeping communities safe.

𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐄. 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 discussed the realities, causes, and consequences of teenage pregnancy, encouraging young people to make informed and responsible decisions and to understand the importance of education, self-care, and building a better future.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
The participants also learned about the importance of mental health and emotional well-being through a session facilitated by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐭 𝐏. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐧, 𝐑𝐏𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐏𝐇𝐎). The discussion reminded the youth that seeking help, expressing emotions, and supporting one another are essential steps toward building healthier and more resilient communities.

Through these lectures, the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026and continues to create a safe and meaningful space where young people can learn, connect, and grow as responsible volunteers and future leaders.

The second day of the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 commenced with physical fitness and skills development activities designed to promote discipline, resilience, teamwork, and camaraderie among participating youth volunteers.

The participants engaged in a by Combative Training through Arnis, which provided participants with an opportunity to develop discipline, focus, coordination, self-confidence, and respect. The activity also emphasized the importance of preparedness, responsible conduct, and teamwork in responding to various challenges.
This was followed jogging activity as part of the camp's physical fitness component, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle while strengthening endurance and fostering unity among the youth.
Through these activities, the camp continues to provide holistic learning experiences that contribute to the development of young people as disciplined, resilient, responsible, and community-oriented volunteers.
The SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 remains committed to strengthening youth participation and volunteerism by equipping young people with knowledge, skills, values, and experiences that they can bring back to their respective communities.

The SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 continues to empower young people through meaningful learning experiences, leadership activities, and community engagement.

As part of the camp, participants took part in a CTG Awareness Session that aimed to strengthen their understanding of the importance of peace, security, and responsible citizenship. The activity encouraged the youth to become informed, vigilant, and active partners in promoting peaceful and resilient communities.

The participants also engaged in a Tactical Hostage Simulation, providing them with an opportunity to learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, communication, and calm decision-making in challenging situations.

Adding creativity and teamwork to the camp experience was the Guidon Making and Presentation, where youth volunteers showcased their unity, identity, creativity, and team spirit. Each group proudly presented their guidon, symbolizing their shared commitment to volunteerism, leadership, and service to the community.

Through these activities, the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 continues to nurture a generation of informed, disciplined, resilient, and empowered young leaders who are ready to contribute to peace, security, and sustainable development in their communities.

The Day 1 of the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026 officially commenced with an inspiring convergence of young volunteers, youth leaders, partner organizations, and government agencies united by a common commitment to service, leadership, volunteerism, and nation-building.

The event was truly honored by the presence of Hon. Emmylou J. Taliño-Mendoza, MNSA, Chairperson of the Regional Development Council XII and Governor of the Province of Cotabato, who served as the Keynote Speaker.

In her keynote address, Governor Taliño-Mendoza emphasized the vital role of the youth in nation-building and volunteerism, encouraging young people to actively participate in community development and become catalysts for positive and meaningful change.

The camp and summit also brought together various national government agencies and partner organizations that shared their programs, services, opportunities, and initiatives designed to empower and support the youth through an engaging Youth Pep Talk session. The participating agencies and organizations included:

Through these meaningful discussions, the youth participants gained valuable insights into the various programs, services, opportunities, and pathways available to young people, inspiring them to become more informed, engaged, and active contributors to their communities and the nation.

Day 1 served as a powerful reminder that youth empowerment is strengthened through collaboration—when government agencies, organizations, and young volunteers come together, we create greater opportunities for the next generation to learn, lead, serve, and make a difference.

The South Cotabato Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Team (PMET) successfully conducted the Provincial On-Site Pre-Assessment and Validation for the Governance Exemplar for Meaningful Service (GEMS) for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Pederasyon of South Cotabato on July 21, 2026.

This activity underscores the Provincial Government of South Cotabato's unwavering commitment to advancing good governance, transparency, accountability, innovation, and meaningful youth participation in local governance. Through the GEMS initiative, the province continues to recognize and strengthen the efforts of young leaders in delivering responsive, inclusive, and impactful programs and services for the youth.

The on-site pre-assessment evaluates the performance, governance practices, and compliance of the SK Pederasyon based on the GEMS assessment framework. It highlights the commitment of the Sangguniang Kabataan to excellence in youth governance through effective organizational management, sound development planning, financial accountability, exemplary leadership, innovation, and the implementation of responsive youth development initiatives.

The Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Team (PMET) of South Cotabato officially ended the Provincial On-Site Assessment and Validation for the Governance Exemplar for Meaningful Service (GEMS) for Sangguniang Kabataan CY 2026 in the Municipality of T'boli SK Federation on July 17, 2026.

The on-site assessment for SK Pederasyon aims to evaluate the performance, governance practices, and compliance of the Sangguniang Kabataan with the GEMS assessment framework. It highlights the commitment of SK councils to excellence in youth governance through effective organizational management, development planning, financial accountability, leadership, innovation, and the implementation of responsive youth development programs.

Through this initiative, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, in partnership with the concerned agencies and stakeholders, continues to strengthen youth leadership, promote transparency and accountability, and recognize outstanding governance practices among Sangguniang Kabataan councils across the province.

The Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Team extends its appreciation to the Municipality of T'boli, its Local Youth Development Office, Municipal Local Government Operations Office, and all participating Sangguniang Kabataan officials for their warm accommodation, cooperation, and unwavering commitment to meaningful public service.

This marks the beginning of the province-wide GEMS assessment, as the PMET continues its validation in the remaining municipalities and city of South Cotabato, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and impactful youth governance.
