For the LKM Irrigators Association (LKM IA), under the leadership of President Suelo G. Gevero, the journey is a story of transformation—from an association once known as “luoy kaayo mi” to becoming one of the Outstanding Irrigators Associations under the Kabacan River Irrigation System (KABRIS).
When President Gevero took the helm, LKM IA was facing difficult circumstances. The association had only ₱150.00 remaining in its funds—a humble starting point that could have easily discouraged anyone. But instead of seeing it as the end, President Gevero and his fellow officers saw it as an opportunity to start anew. With determination, commitment, and the cooperation of the association’s officers and members, LKM IA slowly began to rise. Every effort, every activity, and every decision became a stepping stone toward building a stronger and more organized association.
Under President Gevero’s leadership, the association learned that progress does not always begin with abundant resources. Sometimes, it begins with ₱150.00, a committed leader, a united team, and the courage to believe that things can get better. Today, LKM IA stands as a testament to what good leadership, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance can achieve.
From being “luoy kaayo mi” to earning recognition as one of the outstanding IAs under KABRIS, their story proves that an association’s past does not define its future.
President Suelo G. Gevero’s journey with LKM IA reminds us: “Dili kinahanglan nga daghan dayon ang resources para makasugod. Ang importante, adunay lider nga motuo, mga opisyal nga motabang, ug mga miyembro nga magtinabangay.”
