DSWD XII, PLAB, itinampok ang pag-aani ng apat na sako ng carrots sa Tupi

Tupi, South Cotabato – Sa pamamagitan ng Project LAWA at BINHI, patuloy na sinusuportahan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII (DSWD XII), kasama ang RRP South Cotabato Team, ang mga benepisyaryo ng Project LAWA at BINHI. Kamakailan, nakapag-ani ng apat na sako ng carrots ang Manpower Agri-Fisheries Association sa Site B sa Sitio Matukalon, Barangay Linan, Tupi, South Cotabato.

Sa kabila ng matarik at masukal na daan patungo sa taniman, patuloy na inaalagaan ng mga benepisyaryo ang kanilang mga pananim, kabilang ang carrots at radish. Gumagamit sila ng kabayo upang maihatid ang mga ani sa kanilang bahay bago linisin at dalhin sa barangay upang ibenta.

Sa tulong ng Project LAWA at BINHI, nagiging dagdag na pagkakakitaan ng mga pamilya ang kanilang mga ani, habang napalalakas ang produksyon ng pagkain at pagsusulong ng mas matatag na kabuhayan sa komunidad.

DSWD XII patuloy ang UPLIFT Assistance – ECT payout sa Polomolok

Polomolok, South Cotabato — Patuloy ang DSWD Field Office XII sa pagsasagawa ng UPLIFT Assistance – Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) payout para sa mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol noong Hunyo 8, 2026.

Noong Oktubre 9, 2026, isinagawa ang payout sa Polomolok para sa mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryong may severely damaged at slightly damaged na bahay na hindi pa nakatatanggap ng kanilang cash assistance. Layunin ng tulong na matulungan ang mga pamilyang naapektuhan ng lindol na matugunan ang kanilang mga pangangailangan at makapagsimula sa pagbangon mula sa pinsalang dulot ng kalamidad.

DSWD XII extends assistance to families of two minors who died in a road accident

Cotabato Province - The Crisis Intervention Section (CIS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 12 (DSWD XII) provided financial assistance to the families of two minors who died in a motorcycle accident in Barangay Malapag, Carmen, Cotabato Province.

Based on the initial information, the father of one of the victims was driving the motorcycle when it collided with a tractor-trailer, resulting in the deaths of the two minors, who were both junior high school students.

To help ease the families’ burden during this difficult time, CIS XII provided ₱10,000 in financial assistance to each family, amounting to a total of ₱20,000.

Through its Crisis Intervention Section, DSWD XII continues to provide timely assistance to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.

DSWD XII backs agrivet livelihood of reintegrated beneficiary

General Santos City - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, through the Pag-abot Program, facilitated the procurement and delivery of agrivet supplies and materials, alongside the preparation and improvement of the livelihood area of a newly reintegrated beneficiary in Barangay Upper Labay, General Santos City, on October 7–8, 2026.

The Pag-abot staff, together with the beneficiary and representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of General Santos City and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Upper Labay, facilitated the procurement of livelihood supplies and materials based on the approved Livelihood Assistance Project Proposal (LAPP). These will be used to prepare and improve the designated livelihood area to support the establishment of the agrivet enterprise.

These activities form part of the program’s continuing assistance to help the beneficiary establish a source of income and strengthen community reintegration.

TINGNAN: Bilang bahagi ng paghahanda para sa pagpapatupad ng Social Case Management Services para sa MNLF Transformation program sa darating na Oktubre 14-15, 2026, matagumpay na nagsagawa ng courtesy visit ang mga kawani ng Peace and Development Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PDBBM) program sa mga lokal na pamahalaan ng South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur, at Parang, Maguindanao del Norte. Saklaw ng programa ang 28 MNLF combatants mula sa South Upi at 59 MNLF combatants mula sa Parang.

Kabilang sa mga kinatawan ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Parang sina HR Head Adawea K. Alfonso, Municipal Civil Registrar Head Engr. Casana B. Mandal, at Councilor Habib Shyfullah. Samantala, kinatawan naman ng South Upi sina Executive Assistant Ronnie Ampok at Social Welfare Officer II Yakob S. Taib ng LSWDO.

Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, masusubaybayan ang kalagayan at mga pangangailangan ng mga benepisyaryo, lalo na pagdating sa kabuhayan at pag-aangkop sa buhay sibilyan. Layunin din nitong matulungan silang magkaroon ng mas maayos na pamumuhay at aktibong makibahagi sa pag-unlad ng kanilang komunidad.

Sa pagtutulungan ng DSWD at mga lokal na pamahalaan, mas napapalapit ang mga serbisyo at tulong sa mga benepisyaryo, na naglalayong maghatid ng pag-asa tungo sa isang mapayapa at maunlad na pamayanan.

DSWD FO XII joins South Cotabato’s Provincial Elderly Filipino Week 2026 culmination

South Cotabato — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII (DSWD FO XII) joined the provincial culmination of Elderly Filipino Week 2026 on October 9, celebrating the contributions, wisdom, and continuing role of senior citizens in society.

The event gathered senior citizens from the province’s 10 municipalities and one city, featuring Gandang Lola 2026, singing and ballroom dance competitions, and other activities that showcased their talents and vibrant spirit.

Representing DSWD FO XII Regional Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya, Protective Services Division (PSD) Chief Nanig C. Sanoy emphasized the importance of valuing older persons, saying, “Kung ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, ang mga nakatatanda naman ang nagsisilbing gabay at karunungan.” He reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to promoting the welfare, dignity, and rights of senior citizens through its programs and services.

Also present were Lyhra P. Dee, DSWD FO XII Social Pension Program focal person; Faisah Abobakar, Team Leader for South Cotabato; and the Project Development Officers (PDOs) assigned to the province’s municipalities and city.

LOOK: Despite the challenges of reaching their communities, the case managers of the Peace and Development Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PDBBM) Program of DSWD Field Office XII continue to conduct home visits to Decommissioned Combatants in Kabuntalan and Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao del Norte.

These visits aim to monitor their current situation and living conditions, update their intake sheets, and facilitate referral consent to identify their needs and connect them with appropriate programs and assistance.

Through these efforts, DSWD Field Office XII shows its commitment to reaching every beneficiary, even when going to their communities requires extra effort. The PDBBM Program continues to bring government services closer to Decommissioned Combatants and their families, ensuring that they receive the support they need toward a better and more sustainable future.

Kalidad na silid-aralan, hatid ng DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS sa 33 bata sa pinakamalayong barangay ng Esperanza

Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat — May permanenteng pasilidad na para sa pagkatuto ang 33 bata sa Barangay Legodon, isa sa pinakamalayong barangay ng Esperanza, matapos makumpleto at pormal na mai-turn over ang Child Development Center (CDC) with Amenities sa ilalim ng DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CDD.

Nagkakahalaga ng ₱2,556,491.97 ang proyekto, na may ₱23,500 na counterpart mula sa Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU). Kabilang sa mga makikinabang ang mga batang mula sa mga komunidad ng Manobo at Teduray.

Kumpleto ang pasilidad sa smart TV, electric fans, mga mesa at upuan, kusina, feeding area, at magkahiwalay na palikuran para sa lalaki at babae. Ayon kay Ruben Sumanggap, miyembro ng Barangay Preparation Team, ilang beses nang lumipat-lipat ng lugar ang mga bata dahil walang regular na silid-aralan. Aniya, magsisilbi ang bagong pasilidad hindi lamang sa kasalukuyang henerasyon kundi maging sa mga susunod pa.

Binigyang-diin naman ni Regional Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya na mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng maayos at permanenteng silid-aralan sa pagsuporta sa maagang edukasyon ng mga bata. Dagdag pa niya, ang mga proyektong nakabatay sa pangangailangan ng komunidad ay pamumuhunan sa kasalukuyan at kinabukasan ng mga bata.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan ng komunidad, lokal na pamahalaan, at DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, inaasahang makatutulong ang bagong pasilidad sa pagbibigay ng mas maayos na kapaligiran para sa pagkatuto at sa pangmatagalang kapakanan ng mga bata sa Barangay Legodon.

LOOK: DSWD XII distributes Food-for-Work assistance to Project LAWA at BINHI beneficiaries in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.

The DSWD XII RRP Sultan Kudarat Team successfully distributed 500 Family Food Packs (FFPs) to partner-beneficiaries of Project LAWA at BINHI in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. The beneficiaries rendered five days of Food-for-Work to rehabilitate their communal gardens and inland fishponds, supporting food production and livelihood opportunities amid the impacts of El Niño.

The activity highlights the continued efforts of DSWD XII and its partner-beneficiaries to strengthen food security, promote sustainable livelihoods, and enhance community resilience through Project LAWA at BINHI.

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck 42 km S 1° W of Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental at 4:07 PM on October 8, 2026. Depth of focus: 10 km

The earthquake is tectonic in origin and is an aftershock of the June 2026 Magnitude 7.8 Offshore Sarangani and Magnitude 6.5 Offshore Davao Occidental earthquakes. Further aftershocks may occur.
