Through the passage of REC XII Resolution No. 03, series of 2026, during its inaugural organizational meeting, Region XII has formally urged all provincial, city, and municipal Local School Boards (LSBs) across the region to immediately act upon EDCOM 2's reform recommendations and align their Special Education Fund (SEF) spending with updated national education policies.

DEPDev leads the planning and coordination of pre-disaster planning activities and post-disaster rehabilitation and recovery efforts, including the formulation of Recovery and Rehabilitation Plans (RRPs), as part of its role as the Vice-Chair of the Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery Pillar of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

These efforts integrate disaster risk reduction and preparedness into rehabilitation and recovery planning, supporting resilient communities in line with the Philippine Development Plan and the country's long-term development goals.
