The Training Induction Program (TIP) was successfully attended by TESDA Scholars from selected barangays of La Castellana this morning, May 28, 2026, held at the Negosyo Center, La Castellana.

The Local Government Unit of La Castellana, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Añejo Nicor and Vice Mayor Hon. Mayor Mhai-mhai extends its sincere appreciation to PESO La Castellana LGU and the Regional Training Center – Talisay City for bringing valuable training opportunities closer to our community and continuously supporting the development of skills and livelihood among La Castellanahanons.

Special thanks also to our dedicated trainers, Miss Ellen, Miss Pearl, and Sir Micko Belarma, for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our TESDA scholars. The Local Government Unit of La Castellana, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Añejo Nicor and Vice Mayor Mhai-mhai would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Kasanag Study Center for the successful conduct of the Rural Service Project 2026 in partnership with Banilad Study Center Cebu and Madasigon PDA Bacolod Chapter.

The activity provided a Dental Mission, medicines, and food assistance to the beneficiaries, particularly the children of laborers and farmers together with their parents. The initiative brought smiles, care, and hope to the community through the generosity and dedication of the partner organizations and volunteers.

The Local Government Unit of La Castellana, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Añejo Nicor, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Mr. Loui Lagunday Calataro, PESO Manager Designate, successfully conducted an orientation and meeting with the Sitio Mercedes Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Small Farmers Association of Barangay Sag-ang and the Cabagna-an Upland Farmers Association of Barangay Cabagna-an, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

The program formally commenced with an opening prayer led by PESO Staff Emil Jan Sioco Hilado. This was followed by the presentation of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) by PESO Staff Renz Louie Oiva Sioco, who introduced the objectives and benefits of the program to the participating farmer-beneficiaries. Thereafter, Mr. Ismael Montiflor from the Municipal Agrarian Office presented the proposed project proposal intended to support and strengthen the livelihood opportunities of the associations.

The Local Government Unit of La Castellana extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for granting livelihood assistance to our farmer-beneficiaries. This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the government in empowering local farmers, improving sustainable livelihood opportunities, and uplifting the lives of the community.

The Local Government Unit of La Castellana through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) successfully conducted the Turn-Over Ceremonies of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔.𝗥.𝗔.𝗡.𝗚.𝗞.𝗔. (𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲), a livelihood intervention and reintegration program for repatriated OFWs of La Castellana.

The activity was attended by Hon. Añejo Nicor, Municipal Mayor of La Castellana, together with Hon. Kaye Cabalatungan and Hon. Benjo Magno, Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Mr. Loui Lagunday Calataro, PESO Manager Designate, and Ms. Zoe Anne Varon, Executive Assistant IIB, who expressed their support for the continuous empowerment and reintegration of returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the municipality.

Project A.R.A.N.G.K.A. aims to provide sustainable livelihood assistance and reintegration support to OFWs who requested repatriation, helping them rebuild their lives and create new opportunities within the community.

The said initiative was locally funded by the Local Government Unit of La Castellana through the dedicated efforts of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), reflecting the LGU’s unwavering commitment to responsive public service and inclusive community development.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of La Castellana successfully conducted the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) Examination last April 25, 2026 at Colegio de La Castellana.

A total of 187 student applicants took the examination, which serves as an important step in selecting qualified beneficiaries of the SPES program. Due to the limited slots provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the examination plays a crucial role in ensuring fair and merit-based selection of applicants.

Before the examination proper, PESO Manager Designate Loui Lagunday Calataro shared an inspiring message, recalling his personal journey as a former SPES beneficiary or “SPES baby.” He emphasized how the program helped him in his studies and inspired him to serve the public, encouraging the applicants to value the opportunity given to them.

PESO La Castellana also expressed its sincere gratitude to Colegio de La Castellana College President Dr. Patrick H. Estoya for the support and for allowing the use of classrooms as venues for the examination.

The SPES program continues to provide opportunities for deserving students, allowing them to gain work experience and financial support while pursuing their education, with some beneficiaries continuing in the program until graduation.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a meeting with the Punong Barangays and Barangay Representatives from Barangays Lalagsan, Talaptap, Cabagna-an, Sag-ang, and Masulog to discuss programs and opportunities related to technical education and skills development for the community.

The meeting was presented by Ms. Helen Jane M. Sinucbuhan, Registrar of RTC Talisay, together with Support Staff Mr. Patrick Joseph J. Canoy. The activity was also conducted with the support and coordination of PESO Manager Designate Loui C. Lagunday.

The activity aimed to strengthen collaboration between TESDA, barangay officials, and the Local Government Unit in promoting accessible skills training and employment opportunities for residents of the municipality.

TESDA continues to encourage communities to participate in various training programs that can help improve livelihood opportunities, enhance skills, and create pathways toward sustainable employment.
