With the thrust to develop and empower IP women in ancestral domain, the CSC La Paz Acting CDO facilitates organizing ancestral domain based IP women with an objective to promote and preserve the culture and arts and become entrepreneurs in their own way. The activity was participated by IP women from different sitios of Kasapa II. The resources within if utilise will produce arts and crafts that is anchor with their culture; it will also become their source of income that would help address social and economic problem.
The name of the organization was agreed upon and election of officers was facilitated. Moving forward is to register the CADT 117 Kabobohihan Handicraft Association to Securities Exchange Commission. A work in progress😊

Mambagongon Lake, Agusan Marsh Community Outreach

The Philippine Dental Association ADS & ADN Chapters in collaboration with NCIP CSC La Paz, LGU La Paz-MTourismO, Provincial Health Office of ADS conducted its outreach called “PAHINUNGOD PARA SA TAGA MARSHLAND” on March 13, 2022 in Mambagongon Lake, Poblacion, La Paz, Agusan del Sur.

It was organized by 25 dentists from ADS headed by its Chapter President Dr. Henry Cañizares and ADN headed by its President Dr. Eleonor C. Galimpin, NCIP CSC La Paz Staff headed by Ms. Gilchrist Justo Gregorio, LGU La Paz through Municipal Tourism Office headed by Ms Michelle Havana, and Brgy Officials headed by Punong Barangay Jun Mercado. It was attended by 104 community members both children and adults.

There were 85 food packs, used clothing, toothbrush and toothpaste distributed to families. Dr. Eleonor Galimpin conducted IEC on dental care and toothbrush drilling while NCIP Midwife Cherry De Venancio facilitated the pre-screening on tuberculosis. Inspiring messaged were delivered both from the community and visitors.

The team enjoyed the natural scenery of Agusan Marsh and sumptuous food provided by the host LGU. Thanks to Mayor Michael Lim for being supportive to the endeavor of IPs anywhere in La Paz.

Ancestral Domain Visitation of CADT 117

The Ancestral Domain (AD) Visitation of CADT 117 purposely conducted to establish Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) and Indigenous Peoples Organization (IPO) within ancestral domain and present the 11 building blocks that would gauge that situation of the AD on March 23, 2022 in Municipal Gym, Poblacion, La Paz, Agusan del Sur.

Out of 32 invited clan representatives, only 20 responded with some community members. With the initiative of Acting Community Development Officer Ms. Gilchrist J. Gregorio along with the support of the CSC technical staff, the activity ended with the following output(s): update on the status of 11 Building Blocks; identified major clans settled within AD since time immemorial; endorsed CADT 117 Panguyu Tu Tribu and other members of the IPS; appointed officers of the established IPO; gathered issues and concern within AD.

Next steps were identified for the second round AD visitation.
