KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT STROKE

Heat stroke is a serious and life-threatening condition caused by prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Recognizing the warning signs early can help save lives.

⚠️ Watch out for these symptoms:
• Body temperature above 40°C
• Hot, red, and dry skin
• Loss of consciousness, confusion, or disorientation
• Dizziness, headache, nausea, or vomiting
• Muscle pain or muscle cramps

🚨 If someone shows these signs, seek medical help immediately. Move the person to a cool place and try to lower their body temperature while waiting for emergency responders.

Stay safe and protect yourself from extreme heat. Drink plenty of water 💧, avoid direct sunlight ☀️, and take frequent breaks in shaded or cool areas.

Stay hydrated and stay safe, Ilonggos! ☀️💧

With the heat index reaching high levels across our province, the Iloilo PDRRMO reminds everyone that prevention is our best defense against heat-related illnesses.

Check out these quick tips to keep you and your family cool:

💧 DRINK UP: Don’t wait until you’re thirsty. Keep a water bottle handy and sip throughout the day.
🕒 STAY INDOORS: As much as possible, stay out of the sun between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
👕 DRESS LIGHT: Wear loose, light-colored clothing to help your body breathe.
🍎 EAT FRESH: Opt for water-rich snacks like fruits and vegetables.
🏠 CHECK IN: Look after the elderly, children, and our furry friends—they are most vulnerable to the heat.

Let’s look out for one another. If you or someone you know shows signs of heat exhaustion (dizziness, heavy sweating, or nausea), move to a cool area immediately and seek medical help if needed.

Keep safe, Iloilo!
