TIS athletes shine in zone meet 2026 despite weather challenges

Tawang Integrated School athletes displayed determination, sportsmanship, and excellence as they competed in the Zone Meet held on August 22, 2026, with Lubas Elementary School serving as the host school. Track events were conducted at the Wangal Sports Complex while the field events were held at Ambiong Elementary School.

Despite nearly three weeks of class suspension due to successive typhoons and the continuing unfavorable weather conditions, the Zone Meet pushed through, giving young athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills, discipline, and perseverance.

The school proudly celebrates the accomplishments of its athletes across various sporting events.

TIS parents lead binnadang for new learning space

Parents of Tawang Integrated School joined hands in a spirit of binnadang or bayanihan on August 21, 2026, as they worked together to demolish the school’s old stage to clear the area for a makeshift classroom for Junior High School Learners.

The activity was led by the School Head Benson Labad-dan and SPTA President Michael Petallo, who worked alongside in transforming the area into a much-needed learning space for the learners.

The spirit of binnadang will continue this Sunday as the parents and school community gather once again to work on the construction of a shaded park. Materials recovered from the demolished stage will be reused for the project.

Parents and other members of the school community are encouraged to join once again and lend their time and hands in this continuing effort to improve the school environment.

TIS garners Ist place in poster- making contest

“Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas”

Tawang Integrated School proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Candace Angyab, a Grade 6 learner, for winning First Place in the Poster-Making Contest held as part of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 celebration.

The competition was organized by the La Trinidad Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and gathered talented young artists from various schools across the Municipality of La Trinidad. Anchored on this year’s NDRM theme, “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,” the contest highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness, resilience, and community participation through creative expression.

Despite being the last contestant to complete her artwork, Candace Angyab demonstrated remarkable patience, creativity, and determination. Her poster stood out for its meaningful message, artistic excellence, and relevance to the theme, earning her the First Place award.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the guidance and mentorship of her coach, Sir Benieve Laquiao, whose dedication and support helped nurture her talent and prepare her for the competition.

TAWANG INTEGRATED SCHOOL CONDUCTS INDUCTION CEREMONY OF SCHOOL OFFICERS FOR SY 2026–2027

On July 16, 2026, Tawang Integrated School successfully conducted the Induction Ceremony of the newly elected School Governance Council (SGC) Officers, General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) Officers, Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HPTA) Officers, Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Officers, Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers, and Faculty Club Officers for School Year 2026–2027.

The ceremony symbolized the commitment of the newly inducted officers to uphold their duties and responsibilities in serving the school community. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration among learners, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders in advancing the school's vision of providing quality and learner-centered education.

The oath of office was administered by distinguished leaders from the Province and Municipality of La Trinidad. The SGC and Faculty Club Officers were inducted by Hon. Armando I. Lauro, Board Member of the Province of Benguet, District II, while the GPTA Officers took their oath before Hon. Roderick C. Awingan, Municipal Mayor of La Trinidad, Benguet, on the other hand HPTA, SELG, and SSLG were inducted by the Barangay Officials of Barangay Tawang.

PSJLC Class Hiraya brings meaningful learning through ECIP

Demonstrating its commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment, the PSJLC 2026 Class Hiraya successfully conducted its Enhanced Community Immersion Program (ECIP) at Tawang Integrated School on July 14, 2026.

The activity gathered Grades 6, 7, and 8 learners, including Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners just after the flag ceremony for a series of informative and inspiring learning sessions.

The activity began with an overview of the Bisita Eskwela (PNP Oplan BES) delivered by PMAJ W***y Dumansi. He explained that the team visited the school not only to conduct lectures but also to build friendship and strengthen partnerships with the learners. He encouraged the learners to become STRONG—Smart, Talented, Responsible, Obedient, Nice, and God-fearing—as they grow into responsible and productive members of the community.

The learners benefited from a timely discussion on Mental Health Awareness and Bullying Prevention presented by NUP Elizabeth Cedo, who emphasized the importance of emotional well-being, resilience, and fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.

Meanwhile, Atty. Henry M. Dungala, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM-CAR, inspired the learners through a story illustrating how bullying can be addressed through responsible action. He recounted how a student who was repeatedly teased by a classmate reported the incident to the class adviser. The teacher immediately addressed the issue with the class, and the bullying stopped.

He reminded the learners that every individual has the power to make a positive difference by choosing to do what is right."Each of you can make a difference. You can always choose to do the right thing. That is what the Student Crime Prevention Committee is all about—it is students helping fellow students. Always remember that a safe school is built by good people. Your voice matters, and your actions matter. Each of you has the power to make a difference," he said.

In another session, Atty. Zane Mark Bongayon of NAPOLCOM discussed Student Crime Prevention, emphasizing that crime prevention is everybody's responsibility. He introduced the Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) by explaining its composition, duties, and responsibilities, and encouraged learners to actively participate in promoting a peaceful and disciplined school community.

A representative from the office of Councilor Vladimir Cayabas also delivered a session on Youth Leadership. She encouraged the learners to recognize that leadership is not defined by holding a position but by making positive choices and serving others.
"Being a leader does not mean having a position. Everybody can be a leader," she said, encouraging the learners to become active participants in their school and community and to engage in programs that contribute to nation-building.

The learners also participated in a Career Guidance session facilitated by Jubelle D. Wageyan, MAEd, EAS, of PHISA Institute of Technology. She encouraged the learners, particularly those in Junior High School and the Alternative Learning System (ALS), to explore various career pathways, discover their strengths and interests, and make informed decisions about their future education and employment. She also highlighted the importance of developing skills, pursuing lifelong learning, and taking advantage of technical-vocational and higher education opportunities available to them.

Tawang Integrated School expresses its heartfelt gratitude to PSJLC 2026 Class Hiraya for choosing the school as the beneficiary of its Enhanced Community Immersion Program. PSDS CONDUCTS MONITORING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AT TAWANG INTEGRATED SCHOOL

Tawang Integrated School was honored to welcome our Public Schools District Supervisor, Mr. Delarosa V. Delmas, during his monitoring and technical assistance visit to the school.

The visit focused on verifying the school's compliance with Division Memorandum No. 214, s. 2026, reiterating Simplified Lesson Planning and Learning Design pursuant to DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2026. Mr. Delmas provided valuable guidance to school personnel and emphasized the importance of implementing simplified lesson planning to support quality instruction and improve teaching practices.

He also reiterated the strict implementation of DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, or the Guidelines on Ensuring Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE), reminding all school personnel of their shared responsibility in maintaining a learning environment where every learner feels safe, respected, and supported.

As part of the visit, Mr. Delmas conducted classroom inspections to monitor the school's compliance with DepEd Order No. 21, s. 2023. He encouraged school personnel to declutter classrooms by removing unnecessary materials and objects that may pose hazards to learners. He also highlighted the importance of adequate classroom ventilation and proper lighting to create a healthy, safe, and conducive environment for teaching and learning.

In addition, He also inspected the school canteen to verify compliance with DepEd Order No. 13, s. 2017, entitled "Policy and Guidelines on Healthy Food and Beverage Choices in Schools and in DepEd Offices." He reminded the school to continue promoting healthy food and beverage choices and to ensure that the canteen serves nutritious food that supports the health and well-being of learners.

The observations, recommendations, and technical assistance provided during the visit were well received by the school management and Teachers. These have been duly noted for immediate action as part of the school's commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with Department of Education standards.

TAWANG INTEGRATED SCHOOL CONDUCTS 2ND QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED) SY 2026–2027

As part of its continuing commitment to disaster preparedness and school safety, Tawang Integrated School successfully participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for School Year 2026–2027.

Learners, teachers, and school personnel actively took part in the activity, demonstrating proper earthquake response procedures and evacuation protocols. The drill served as an opportunity to assess the school's readiness and reinforce the importance of remaining calm, alert, and responsive during emergencies.

Preparedness is a shared responsibility. Through activities such as the NSED, Tawang Integrated School continues to equip its learners with practical knowledge and skills that help protect lives and reduce risks during disasters.

The school extends its appreciation to all participants for their cooperation and seriousness in carrying out the drill. Their active involvement reflects the school's collective commitment to creating a safer and more resilient learning environment.

SPTA general assembly, LAC session conducted during opening block

As part of the Opening Block activities for School Year 2026–2027, Tawang Integrated School successfully conducted its School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) General Assembly on June 11, 2026.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the orientation on the newly implemented three-term school calendar, facilitated by Ma'am Evangeline P. Ticag, Master Teacher II. Parents were informed about the structure, schedule, and expectations of the revised academic calendar.

The assembly also included the validation of the School Handbook presented by Ma'am Analyn Abibico, Teacher II and Guidance Designate. Sir Benieve Laquiao discussed the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) on School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM), while Ma'am Diana Petallo presented the prescribed school uniform. School Nurse Shelby Sangao also conducted an IEC session on school health to promote learners' well-being and healthy practices.

Meanwhile, SPTA President Frederick Amango presented the association's accomplishment report for the previous school year, followed by the financial report delivered by SPTA Secretary Jenny Manengyao. The assembly concluded with the election of the new set of SPTA officers.

Barangay officials also took the opportunity to present local ordinances on Solid Waste Management (SWM), Child Protection, Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM), and health.

In his closing message, School Head Sir Benson Labad-dan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the parents, donors, barangay officials, and other stakeholders for their unwavering support of the school, especially during the recently concluded Brigada Eskwela.

In the afternoon, teachers participated in a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on the Re-Echo of the Roll-Out Training of the Revised K to 12 Curriculum for Grades 6, 9, and 10, strengthening their understanding of the curriculum updates and implementation strategies.

The day's activities underscored the school's commitment to fostering strong school-community partnerships and ensuring a successful start to the new school year.
