๐ Happy International Day of Cooperatives 2026! ๐
The Cooperative Development Authority โ Cordillera Administrative Region (CDA-CAR) proudly joins the global cooperative movement in celebrating the International Day of Cooperatives (CoopsDay) 2026 with the theme:
โCooperatives for a Peaceful World.โ
This year's celebration highlights the unique role of cooperatives in building bridges among people and communities, fostering social cohesion, promoting solidarity, and contributing to peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable development. It reaffirms the cooperative movement's commitment to creating a better world through collective action, democratic participation, and shared prosperity.
In support of this meaningful observance, cooperatives across the Cordillera region actively participated in various activities that showcased the cooperative spirit and its positive impact on communities.
Several cooperatives simultaneously celebrated the International Day of Cooperatives and Arbor Day, undertaking clean-up drives and tree-planting activities that demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Others proudly displayed official tarpaulins and banners in their offices to signify their solidarity with the global celebration and to raise public awareness of the vital role of cooperatives in nation-building.
Many cooperatives also organized meaningful activities such as knowledge-sharing sessions, awareness campaigns, community engagements, and other initiatives that promoted cooperative values and principles, as well as the significance of peacebuilding within their respective communities. These activities served as platforms for learning, collaboration, and strengthening the bonds among cooperative members and stakeholders.
Moreover, several cooperatives collaborated with partner organizations to celebrate the occasion and further advance the cooperative movement's shared goals of social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
This year's observance also coincided with the celebration of Cordillera Month, providing an opportunity for cooperatives to showcase the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and indigenous values of the Cordillera Administrative Region. Through cultural presentations, traditional attire, and community activities that highlighted local identity and solidarity, cooperatives demonstrated how the Cordilleran spirit of unity, mutual assistance, and respect for diversity complements cooperative principles and contributes to building peaceful and resilient communities.
The Cooperative Development AuthorityโCAR commends all cooperatives and partner organizations that actively participated in this year's celebration and for continuously embodying the true essence of cooperation. Your collective efforts demonstrate that cooperatives remain powerful instruments for fostering peace, resilience, environmental stewardship, and inclusive prosperity in our communities.
As we celebrate International Day of Cooperatives 2026, let us continue to uphold cooperative values and principles and work together in building a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable future for all.
