Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, through Executive Order No. 2026-68, has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school, including the ALS (both private and public educational institutions), in the Province of Benguet tomorrow, September 3, 2026, due to the inclement weather.

Schools are encouraged to implement appropriate alternative learning modalities and other learning continuity measures, as may be feasible, to ensure that learning activities continue while face-to-face classes are suspended.

Mayor Roderick Awingan suspends face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school for both public and private educational institutions on August 28, 2026 (Friday), as weather models forecast that the heaviest rains will coincide with afternoon dismissal hours, placing students at unnecessary risk of accidents, stranding, or exposure to hazardous elements.

PAGASA issued Weather Advisory No. 21, reinforced by consistent rainfall forecasts at 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 11:00 PM, forecasting that Benguet will experience 50 to 100 mm of rainfall today until tomorrow evening (August 28, 2026), and 100 to 200 mm of rainfall from tomorrow evening until Saturday noon (August 29, 2026) due to the Southwest Monsoon, which may bring localized flooding and landslides to moderately and highly susceptible areas and poses a severe hazard to students given the already heavily saturated soil within the municipality.

FACE TO FACE CLASSES FOR PRE SCHOOL TO ELEMENTARY SUSPENDED TODAY-AUGUST 25, 2026

Face to face classes from Preschool to Elementary are suspended today, August 25, 2026, due to the prevailing weather and rainfall forecast issued by DOST-PAGASA at 5:00 AM.

​This suspension is made upon the recommendation of DepEd PSDS Delarosa Delmas and the MDRRMO.

Pursuant to the directive of Office of the President through Memorandum Circular No. 131, Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas said that face-to-face classes in all levels, both public and private, are still suspended on Thursday, August 20.

According to the Memorandum, schools shall implement appropriate alternative learning modalities and other learning continuity measures, as may be feasible, to ensure that learning activities continue while face-to-face classes are suspended.

Mayor Roderick Awingan suspends face-to-face classes from preschool to Senior High School for both public and private educational institutions on August 18, 2026 (Tuesday), as the prevailing weather systems continue to bring light to moderate to heavy, and at times intense rains over the municipality, necessitating the suspension of classes to preempt any untoward incidents that may endanger the students.

Based on the issued Weather Advisory No. 63 of PAGASA, the Province of Benguet is forecasted to experience 100 to 200 mm of rainfall due to the Southwest Monsoon today to tomorrow noon (August 18, 2026), which may cause localized flooding and landslides in moderate to highly susceptible areas.

Prohibition of Loitering. In accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 13-2012 (Juvenile Welfare Ordinance of La Trinidad) and existing municipal anti-truancy regulations, upon the declaration of class suspension, students are not allowed to stay, loiter, or congregate in business establishments or commercial establishments, including but not limited to internet cafes, billiard halls, parks, and other recreational centers.

To ensure the safety of the students from the hazards of the Southwest Monsoon, owners and managers of business establishments are directed to refuse entry for leisure and advise students to return to their respective residences. The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, alongside all Barangay DRRMCs, are tasked to strictly monitor and enforce this directive.
