𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: BGEN DARREL R BAÑEZ, Brigade Commander, 501st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, paid a courtesy visit to PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on August 4, 2026.

Upon his arrival, BGEN BAÑEZ was received by PBGEN JULIO S LIZARDO, Deputy Regional Director for Administration, and welcomed by PCOL FROILAND B LOPEZ, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations, together with members of the Regional Staff.

During the meeting, PBGEN DILAG and BGEN BAÑEZ discussed measures to further strengthen inter-agency coordination and sustain peace and order initiatives across the Cordillera region. They underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army in addressing security concerns, enhancing public safety, and supporting development efforts.

The courtesy visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between the PRO CAR and the 501st Infantry Brigade, reflecting their shared commitment to promoting lasting peace, security, and progress for the people of the Cordillera.

Police officers from Police Station 6 (PS 6) of the Baguio City Police Office promptly responded to a request for assistance and safely transported an 85-year-old woman to a medical facility after she experienced chills at her residence in Barangay San Antonio Village, Aurora Hill, Baguio City.

According to PS 6, the request for police assistance came from the barangay health service of Barangay San Antonio Village after the elderly woman required immediate medical attention.

Responding officers, PSSG Jomar R. Apilado, PSSG Nikko D. Pangosfian, and PCpl Mark Anthony B. Soriano, immediately proceeded to the residence of the senior citizen.

Upon assessment, the responding police officers carried the patient through the narrow pathway, aboard the police mobile and transported her to the Aurora Hill Mega Health Center for immediate medical intervention.

Due to the need for further evaluation and treatment, the patient was subsequently referred and transported to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, where she remains under medical observation as of press time.

𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗥 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝟯𝟰 𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗛𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗦; 𝟱𝟱 𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗘

A total of 34 wanted persons were arrested during weeklong manhunt operations conducted by the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), while 55 municipalities across the region logged zero crime incidents following intensified anti-criminality operations from July 26 to August 1, 2026.

According to reports from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of PRO CAR, the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) recorded the most arrests with 17, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office with five, Abra and Kalinga PPOs with four each, Mountain Province PPO with two, and Apayao and Ifugao PPOs with one arrest each.

Of those apprehended, four were classified as Most Wanted Persons—all were included at the provincial level.

Aside from manhunt operations, PRO CAR intensified police visibility and strengthened community cooperation. These measures led to zero crime incidents in 55 municipalities across the region, as well as in one police station in Baguio City. Specifically, zero crime incidents were recorded in 22 municipalities in Abra, nine in Mountain Province, and six each in the provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, and Kalinga. Also, Police Station 9 of Baguio CPO recorded zero crime incidents during the same period.

PRO CAR also posted a Crime Clearance Efficiency of 87.69% and a Crime Solution Efficiency of 84.62% throughout the reporting timeframe.

Driven by swift police response, effective investigative efforts, and efficient case resolution, PRO CAR remains steadfast in maintaining peace and order while ensuring the safety and security of communities across the Cordillera region.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: As another month of dedicated service begins, the men and women of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) gathered for the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Multi-Purpose Center, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet, on August 3, 2026.

The ceremony was led by PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, Regional Director of PRO CAR, alongside PBGEN JULIO S LIZARDO, Deputy Regional Director for Administration; PCOL FROILAND B LOPEZ, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Operations; and PCOL ARNOLD D RAZOTE, Officer-in-Charge, Chief Regional Staff; the Regional Staff; the Special Staff; the Chiefs of the Regional Support Units; and other PRO CAR personnel.

The ceremony began with a solemn invocation led by Rev. Fr. (PCPT) JEZZRYL P FAILAGMAO, Officer-in-Charge of the Regional Pastoral Office. This was followed by the recitation of the "Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas," the "Bagong Pilipinas" Pledge, Police Officer's Pledge, and the International Humanitarian Law Pledge led by PCPT NICOMEDES B VALDEZ JR., of the Regional Medical and Dental Unit–CAR.

The activity concluded with the singing of the "PNP Lingkod ng Bayan," followed by the recitation of the mantra of the Chief, PNP, PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ, JR.: "Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman."

A timely call for help and the swift response of police personnel helped ensure that a man experiencing symptoms of a suspected stroke received immediate medical attention along Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City on July 30, 2026.

In the afternoon of July 30, 2026, personnel of Police Station 7, Baguio City Police Office, received a call regarding a male individual who was reportedly exhibiting signs consistent with a suspected stroke.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Pat Ceasar Mamawag, member of PSBRC Class 2019-01 “Gilas-Diwa” and a native of Tabuk City, Kalinga; Pat Pat Jerry May Bab-anga, member of PSBRC Class 2020-01 “Sinag-Kidlat” and a native of Bauko, Mt. Province; Pat Danielle Cabesa, member of PSBRC Class 2024-01 “ Masalibtak” and a native of Tuba, Benguet and Pat Natalie Larines, member of PSBRC Class 2024-01 “Masalibtak” and a native of Sablan, Benguet promptly responded to the reported location to assess the condition of the individual and provide immediate assistance.

The responding police officers immediately coordinated with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to transport the man to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for further medical evaluation and treatment.

The swift action of Police Station 7 embodies the PNP's commitment to responsive and compassionate public service, reflecting the Chief PNP's mantra: "Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas — Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman."
