Badeo, Kibungan.

When every second counts, heroes don't hesitate.

On the afternoon of May 30, 2026, that's exactly what happened in Brgy. Samoki, Bontoc, Mountain Province. A man fell from a building under constructionβ€”and the Inayan Cops of Bontoc proved once again that serving the community goes far beyond just enforcing the law.

After a concerned citizen raised the alarm, police officers from the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) didn't just respondβ€”they raced to the scene. Joining forces with the Municipal Health Office and local volunteers, they found the victim on the ground and wasted no time.

First aid was immediately administered on-site before safely transporting the victim using a police mobile to Bontoc General Hospital. The patient is currently in stable condition and awaiting further medical evaluation.

Leading the response was PMAJ ROBERT BARRETO SAGANDOY, Chief of Police of Bontoc MPS, member of PSBRC Class 03-94A "KALASAG", together with PCpl Daryl Philmar S Mosomos, member of PSBRC Class 2015 β€œSUMIKLAB” and PCpl Jairus G Maskay, member of PSBRC Class 2018-01 β€œKASANDAGAN”, all natives of Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Their actions remind us that behind the badge are hearts ready to serve. This is the spirit of Project H.E.R.O. β€” Honoring Exemplary and Reliable Officers β€” and it lives in the men and women who watch over the public every day.

Because in Bontoc, policing isn't just a job. It's a commitment to care.

In its continued efforts to protect communities and suppress illegal drug activities, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) successfully conducted a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug operations from May 25 to 31, 2026, resulting in the seizure of more than P170M worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of three drug personalities.

According to reports from the Regional Operations Division, PRO CAR carried out a total of 18 operations, consisting of 16 ma*****na eradication operations and two buy-bust operations.

From these operations, PRO CAR operatives confiscated 469,200 fully grown ma*****na plants, 528,180 ma*****na seedlings, 477,700 grams of dried ma*****na leaves and fruiting tops, 3,125 grams of dried ma*****na stalks, and 2.17 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP170,680,956.00.

These operations also led to the apprehension of three drug personalities, all of whom were identified as Street Level Individuals (SLIs). The suspects now face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The most significant accomplishments were recorded by the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), which successfully eradicated ma*****na plants with an SDP of PhP170,444,000.00, and by the Benguet PPO, which seized illegal drugs with an SDP of PhP232,876.00 and apprehended one SLI.

Meanwhile, the Baguio City Police Office confiscated suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP4,080.00 and arrested two SLIs.

These accomplishments reflect PRO CAR's sustained commitment to combating illegal drugs through intensified operations, strengthened partnerships with partner agencies and communities, and continuous community education and awareness programs, contributing to safer and drug-free communities across the Cordillera region.
