A gas station attendant in Zamboanga City is earning admiration from netizens after a video of him explaining the increase in fuel prices went viral online.
The man in the clip was identified as Alkindar “Khinz” J. Amil. While working at the gas station, a motorist asked him a simple question about why gasoline prices continue to rise.
Instead of giving a brief response, Amil took the time to clearly explain the different factors that affect fuel prices. He discussed how global crude oil prices, geopolitical tensions, and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates all play a role in determining the cost of petroleum products in the Philippines.
The video, which was first shared by RMN Zamboanga, quickly spread across social media. Many viewers praised Amil not only for his knowledge but also for the calm and respectful way he explained a complicated issue.
What impressed people even more was learning about his academic background. Amil graduated Cum Laude from Mindanao State University – Sulu in 2016. According to reports, he had also been a consistent top student during his elementary and high school years.
Despite his academic achievements, Amil currently works as a pump attendant. His story resonated with many Filipinos, as it reflects the reality that even highly educated individuals sometimes take jobs that may not match their educational credentials due to limited opportunities.
