LAGAWE, IFUGAO โ€” The 14th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army (14RCDG, RESCOM, PA), reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the AFP Code of Conduct during the simultaneous flag-raising ceremony held on 05 October 2026 at Headquarters 14RCDG, So. Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao, in celebration of the 36th AFP Code of Conduct Day.

During the ceremony, COL OSCAR B BALIGNASAY JR. INF (GSC) PA, Group Commander, 14RCDG, read the message of AFP Chief of Staff GEN ANTONIO NAFARRETE, emphasizing that true military strength is founded on character, honor, integrity, and service to the Filipino people.

Echoing the message, COL BALIGNASAY reminded all personnel to make the AFP Code of Conduct their daily guide in performing their duties. He emphasized personal accountability, discipline, and professionalism, stressing that every soldierโ€™s actions reflect the reputation of 14RCDG, the Reserve Command, and the entire AFP.

The activity strengthened the unitโ€™s collective commitment to uphold the core values of Honor, Service, and Patriotism and to continue serving the Filipino people and the Cordilleran community with integrity and dedication.

๐“๐š๐›๐ฎ๐ค ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐Š๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š - Under the theme โ€œPuso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,โ€ the ceremony recognized outstanding government personnel, volunteers, and partner organizations for their dedication and contributions to public service and community development.

The 1405CDC received a Citation of Commendation, while LTC DEXTER P. DANTOG (INF) PA, Director, 1405CDC, was recognized with the Katibayan ng Pagkilala (Exemplary Leadership Award).

The event also highlighted the valuable contributions of Philippine Army reservists. 2LT Christian Luyaben PA (RES), TSg Enrique Gonzales PA (RES), and Sgt San Ubaldo Esteba PA (RES) received the Reservist Award for Consistent Voluntary Service, while Pvt Vannie Aclam PA (RES) was recognized with the Convergence Team Leader Award. Sgt Aurora Amilig PA (RES), together with stakeholder Dr. Edward Tandingan, also received the Stakeholder Award for their contributions to community iitiatives.

These recognitions demonstrate how reservists can make a meaningful difference not only during military activities, but also in community service, government convergence, and nation-building.

LAGAWE, IFUGAO โ€“ The 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, marked a milestone as it successfully concluded its first Newly Assigned Personnel Orientation Training (NAPOT) conducted at the RCDG level through a Closing Ceremony and Donning of Patch for 24 enlisted personnel on 25 September 2026 at the H14RCDG Conference Room, So. Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao.

The ceremony was presided over by Colonel Oscar B. Balignasay Jr., Group Commander, 14RCDG, RESCOM, PA, who served as the Keynote Speaker. In his message, he congratulated the participants for completing the training and reminded them to carry the values of discipline, professionalism, and commitment as they begin their duties in the unit.

As the first NAPOT conducted at the RCDG level, the ten-day training provided newly assigned personnel with a clear understanding of the unitโ€™s history, mission, organizational structure, policies, military customs and traditions, and their roles in supporting the Reserve Commandโ€™s mission. It also strengthened teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.

The activity concluded with the Donning of Patch, officially welcoming the 24 enlisted personnel as members of the 14RCDG and symbolizing their readiness to serve with dedication in support of the unitโ€™s mission.

Presided over by Hon. Benjamin B. Magalong, City Mayor of Baguio, the ceremony brought together personnel from the Philippine Army, Joint Task Unit โ€œPanagkaykaysa,โ€ various government agencies, and other security stakeholders in reaffirming their collective commitment to sustaining peace, security, and stability in the city.

Following the ceremony, the 1401CDC received a Certificate of Appreciation from Mayor Magalong in recognition of its manpower assistance during the Search, Rescue, and Retrieval (SRR) Operations at Purok 2, Barangay Guisad Surong, Baguio City, on 10 August 2026. The recognition was followed by the signing of the Pledge of Commitment, symbolizing the continued dedication of participating agencies to public safety and community resilience.

The activity highlights the 1401CDCโ€™s continued commitment to supporting local government units and partner agencies in peace and security initiatives, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR), and other community-based operations in support of a safer and more resilient Baguio City.

Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao.

The activity was hosted by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (OJ9), with Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. serving as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS). This year's celebration carried the theme, โ€œLaang Kawal: Sandigan ng Bayan sa Kapayapaan, Kaayusan, at Katatagan,โ€ highlighting the vital role of reservists as dependable partners in promoting peace, public order, disaster preparedness, and national resilience.

The ceremony recognized the dedication and continued contributions of the Reserve Force in support of the Philippine Army's mission. It also strengthened camaraderie, coordination, and commitment among the 14RCDG, its CDCs, Ready Reserve Infantry Battalions (RRIBns), and reservists across the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The successful conduct of the culmination ceremony reaffirmed the 14RCDG's commitment to maintaining a capable, responsive, and mission-ready Reserve Forceโ€”living up to the true spirit of โ€œSandigan ng Bayanโ€ in serving the nation whenever and wherever duty calls.

LAGAWE IFUGAO โ€” The 14th Regional Community Defense Group (14RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army formally opened the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 02-2026, welcoming 120 aspiring reservists from various provinces across the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) during an opening ceremony held at the Luna Gymnasium, San Isidro, Luna, Apayao, on September 10, 2026.

The ceremony was graced by Major General Ronald Jess S. Alcudia, Commander, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his message, MGen Alcudia emphasized the importance of discipline, patriotism, commitment, and readiness as the trainees undergo military training and prepare themselves to become part of the country's reserve force.

Also present during the activity was Hon. Elias C. Bulut Jr., Governor of Apayao, who conveyed his support for the conduct of the BCMT and recognized the importance of collaboration between the local government and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in strengthening community preparedness and national defense.

The activity brought together the 120 BCMT trainees from across the Cordillera Administrative Region, military personnel, ROTC commanders, University officials, local government officials, partner agencies, and other stakeholders, all united by a common commitment to serve. Hailing from different parts of the Cordillera, the trainees will undergo 45 days of structured military training designed to instill discipline, strengthen physical and mental resilience, and develop the basic knowledge and skills necessary for their future roles as citizen soldiers.

As BCMT Class 02-2026 begins its training journey, the 120 trainees carry with them not only the pride of their respective communities but also a shared responsibility to contribute to the defense and security of the Cordillera and the nation. Their participation reflects the enduring spirit of volunteerism, patriotism, and selfless service, further strengthening the 14RCDG's mission of building a capable, organized, and responsive reserve force.
