Matagumpay na isinagawa sa Ammungan Hall Wing A ang kulminasyon ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, ASEAN at Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) Month na nilahukan ng mga kawani ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon sa Schools Division of Ifugao.

Bilang pagtatapos ng pagdiriwang, hinati sa anim na pangkat ang mga kawani upang lumahok sa iba't ibang patimpalak na naglalayong palalimin ang pagpapahalaga sa wika, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan. Kabilang sa mga isinagawang gawain ang sabayang pagbigkas sa Filipino at Tuwali, kung saan ipinamalas ng bawat pangkat ang kanilang husay, pagkamalikhain, at pagkakaisa. Ang mga magwawaging pangkat ay tumanggap ng mga premyo bilang pagkilala sa kanilang natatanging pagganap.

Tampok din sa programa ang pagrampa ng mga kawani na palagiang nagsusuot ng mga kasuotang may temang ASEAN at Filipiniana tuwing Lunes bilang pagpapakita ng suporta at pagpapahalaga sa kultura at tradisyon.

Ayon sa mga tagapag-organisa, ang pagdiriwang ay hindi lamang nagsilbing pagkakataon upang ipakita ang talento ng mga kawani kundi naging daan din upang higit na mapalakas ang pagkakaisa, pakikipagkapwa, at pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika at kultura.

Mahalaga rin ang naging epekto ng gawain sa mga kawani ng gobyerno sapagkat pinatibay nito ang kanilang kamalayan sa kanilang tungkulin bilang tagapagtaguyod ng kultura, kasaysayan, at pagkakaiba-iba ng mga mamamayang kanilang pinaglilingkuran. Sa pamamagitan ng aktibong pakikilahok sa mga gawaing pangkultura, higit nilang naunawaan ang kahalagahan ng paggalang sa katutubong pagkakakilanlan, paggamit ng sariling wika, at pagpapanatili ng pagkakaisa sa loob ng ahensya. Nakatulong din ito sa pagpapalakas ng samahan at pagtutulungan ng mga kawani, na mahalaga sa pagbibigay ng mas mahusay at makataong serbisyo publiko.

Nagtapos ang programa sa diwa ng pagkakaisa at pagmamalaki sa mayamang kultura, wika, at pamana ng mga Pilipino at ng mga bansang kasapi ng ASEAN.

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Ifugao participated in the Pre-Drill Orientation and Active Shooting Attack Safety Drill Briefing held at the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (IPPO), Camp Col. Joaquin B. Dunuan, Poblacion North, Lagawe, Ifugao.

The activity was organized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Ifugao Police Provincial Office as part of preparations for the upcoming Nationwide Simultaneous Safety Drill (NSSD) for Schools.

During the orientation, participants were briefed on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and coordinated response measures aimed at strengthening preparedness for active shooting incidents and other emergency situations. The activity also emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies, schools, and stakeholders in ensuring the safety and security of learners, personnel, and the community.

SDO Ifugao's participation reflects its commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and school safety initiatives, contributing to a safer and more resilient learning environment for all.

𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱-𝗜𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀

The Department of Education (DepEd)-Ifugao has expressed support for the proposed Cultural Heritage Advocacy and Mentoring Program (CHAMP) presented by the Ifugao State University (IFSU)-IRT GIAHS Center at the SDO Function Room on Aug. 24,2026.

During a meeting with OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Virginia C. Amogan-Batan and Division Office officials, both parties agreed to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement before implementation.

The program, which aims to promote appreciation of the Ifugao Rice Terraces, culture, heritage, and Indigenous Knowledge, Systems, and Practices (IKSP) among learners, will be piloted in Balangbang Elementary School in Mayoyao, Bangbang Elementary School in Hungduan, and Gohang National High School in Banaue.

CHAMP will be aligned with DepEd's trimester school calendar to ensure its smooth integration into school activities while helping develop future heritage advocates in Ifugao.

The Schools Division Office of Ifugao conducted a Writeshop on the Development of Learner Materials for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Integration on August 21-23, 2026 at Diocitas Hotel, Santiago City, Isabela.

The activity aimed to develop quality learning materials that integrate DRRM concepts across various subject areas, promoting safety, preparedness, and resilience among learners.

The writeshop was conducted by the SGOD-DRRM Unit in collaboration with the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) joined by teacher-developers and school heads.

The Schools Division Office of Ifugao, through the Health and Nutrition Unit, in partnership with the School Management Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, successfully conducted the Orientation on the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) for SY 2026–2027, Awarding of Best Program Implementers, and School Governance Council (SGC) Orientation on August 18–20, 2026 at Ammungan Hall A.

Conducted in three batches, the activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) and other school health and nutrition programs, recognize outstanding program implementers, and orient school heads on the role and functions of School Governance Councils (SGCs) in supporting effective school governance and learner development.

The division formally recognized outstanding implementers of the WASH in Schools Program, Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, and School-Based Feeding Program for their efforts in promoting learner health, nutrition and safe school environment.

The activity also featured the recognition of 20 School-Based Teen Centers across the division. The awards were conferred by the Provincial Government of Ifugao through the collaborative support of the Provincial Governor’s Office, Provincial Youth Development Office, Provincial SK Federation Office, and the Provincial Health Office.

Demonstrating their continued commitment to adolescent health and development, the Provincial Local Government Unit also turned over ₱108,000.00 in funding support for the division’s School-Based Teen Centers.

In her message, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Virginia C. Amogan-Batan emphasized the important role of school heads in safeguarding learner health and ensuring the effective implementation of programs. She expressed her gratitude to the PLGU Ifugao for its active partnership and support for school level initiatives. Challenging school heads, the SDS urged them to work with the same commitment and dedication as their partners in advancing the health, safety, and holistic development of every learner.

Partnership for Better Learning Spaces for Alternative Learning System at Alfonso Lista

The Canva Foundation’s Empowered Spaces Program, in partnership with the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)–Ifugao, learners and teachers in the Alternative Learning System of Alfonso Lista Ifugao received valuable learning and technology resources.

The donated items from the Canva Foundation include 15 learner-customized folding tables, 15 learner chairs, 1 teacher’s table and chair, 10 bookshelves, 10 Evo organizers, a 20-meter HDMI cable, 2 Apple MacBooks, and 1 printer with ink, from DOST-Ifugao are 1 unit star books desktop and 1 unit television.

These donations aim to provide a more organized, comfortable, and technology-supported learning environment. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering learners and teachers and creating spaces where education, creativity, and innovation can thrive.

Through this collaboration, the Canva Foundation, Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, and DOST–Ifugao continue to support communities by investing in better learning opportunities for every learner.

𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗜𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮

Guided by the commitment that No Ifugao Learner is Left Behind, officials of the Schools Division of Ifugao met with Hon. Atty. Solomon R. Chungalao, Province's Lone District Congressman on August 18, 2026 to discuss priority programs and projects to improve educational services and facilities across the province.

Schools Division Superintendent Virginia Amogan-Batan, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Pio D. Ecuan, SGOD Chief Jacqueline C. Lunag, and CID Chief Evangeline Alipio-Dulnuan attended the meeting.

Among the key concerns discussed were the titling of school lots, separation, establishment and renaming of extension and annex schools, and the construction and rehabilitation of school facilities, particularly for Last Mile Schools, to ensure better access to quality education for learners in geographically isolated communities.

The officials also proposed the establishment of Learning Community Centers in areas whose school facilities were damaged by recent typhoons to support learning continuity and community recovery.

In addition, the proposal of the Council of Elders, led by IPED Coordinator Herminia Hoggang, regarding the Construction of a Three-storey Multi-purpose Building/Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) Agamang Resource and Learning Center at the Division Office was presented and discussed. The proposed center aims to strengthen the implementation of Indigenous Peoples Education programs and serve as a hub for the preservation and promotion of indigenous knowledge, systems, and practices.

Also highlighted were infrastructure needs across the division, including proposals for new classroom construction in 11 schools and repair/rehabilitation projects in 16 schools to address classroom shortages and improve learning environments for both learners and teachers.

The meeting underscored the strong collaboration between the Schools Division of Ifugao and the Congressional Office, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing programs, infrastructure projects, and educational initiatives that will benefit learners and further strengthen the delivery of quality education throughout the province.

SDS Virginia C. Amogan-Batan, CESO VI, together with the OIC-ASDS Pio D. Ecuan, the Division Chiefs and selected SDO personnel, participated in the online Management Committee (MANCOM) meeting held yesterday, August 13,2026 at the Division Function Room.

The meeting served as a venue for education leaders and key officials to discuss management concerns, share updates, coordinate programs and activities, and ensure the effective implementation of DepEd policies and priorities.

It provided an opportunity for SDO-Ifugao to strengthen coordination, translate agreements into actionable plans, monitor implementation, and ensure that programs and services remain responsive to the needs of schools and learners. #
