Meanwhile, in Brgy. Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur, personnel of the Bula Municipal Police Station, Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5, and PNP DEG arrested another male high-value drug personality in a separate buy-bust operation. The operations resulted in the recovery of approximately 2.15 kilograms of suspected shabu, with a combined value of โ‚ฑ14,620,000.00, keeping a substantial quantity of dangerous drugs out of circulation.

The accomplishment supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through focused action against high-value drug personalities.

โ€œThese operations show what can be achieved when intelligence is translated into precise and lawful police action. We will remain focused on dismantling criminal activities and ensuring that cases arising from our operations are properly brought before the courts,โ€ PGEN Nartatez said.

The arrested individuals are under police custody for proper disposition, while the confiscated drug evidence has been submitted for laboratory examination and appropriate legal proceedings.

As the PNP takes decisive action against the illegal drug trade and keeps dangerous drugs out of communities under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

PNP DEALS DOUBLE BLOW TO ILLEGAL GAMBLING: 6 ARRESTED, NEGROS ORIENTAL PD AND 6 CHIEFS RELIEVED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has dealt a decisive blow to illegal gambling in Negros Oriental, with six individuals arrested and seven police commanders relieved under the PNPโ€™s One-Strike Policy.

On August 28, 2026, simultaneous operations conducted by the Regional Special Operations Group of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region from 10:14 AM to 1:34 PM resulted in the arrest of six individuals in the municipalities of Ayungon, Tayasan, Sibulan, and Pamplona, and the cities of Bayawan and Guihulngan. The six individuals were apprehended for allegedly soliciting and collecting bets for illegal numbers games in violation of Republic Act No. 9287, or the Anti-Illegal Numbers Games Law.

The operations resulted in the recovery of betting slips, improvised betting receipts, claim stubs, notebooks containing various number combinations, ballpens, marked bet money, and cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal numbers games.

The positive operations prompted immediate administrative action, resulting in the relief of the Chiefs of Police of Ayungon, Tayasan, Sibulan, Pamplona, Bayawan, and Guihulngan, as well as the Provincial Director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, whose area of responsibility covers the entire province. Meanwhile, the Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) of PRO NIR was designated as Officer-in-Charge of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office in addition to his present duties.

โ€œPolice leadership demands accountability, and we will not hesitate to impose decisive action when commanders fail to address illegal activities within their areas of responsibility. Our operations must be backed by firm command responsibility and sustained enforcement,โ€ said PGEN Nartatez.

The action also advances the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening command accountability and ensuring that police units respond firmly to criminal activities within their areas of responsibility.

The PNP will sustain its intensified campaign against illegal gambling and hold police commanders accountable for failing to address unlawful activities within their jurisdictions.

As the PNP strengthens law enforcement and command accountability against illegal gambling under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

Authorities apprehended two local individuals, a man known as alias "Mark" and a woman known as alias "Ana," both in their mid-30s and Filipino citizens.

"Nakakalungkot na may mga nananamantala pa rin sa pagsisikap ng ating mga kababayan na makatulong sa pamilya nila. Hindi natin papayagan na manakaw ang pinaghirapan nilang pera nang dahil lang sa mga pekeng pangako. We are working hand-in-hand with the DMW and other partner agencies to make sure these fraudulent schemes are stopped right at their tracks, whether they operate on the ground or through online platforms," Police General Nartatez stated.

The Philippine National Police urges all job seekers to remain vigilant and double-check recruitment offers directly through official government channels before parting with their hard-earned savings. Through persistent law enforcement and active community support, the organization remains steadfast in bringing to life a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.

In Pantukan, Davao de Oro, police arrested a legal-age Filipino known by the alias โ€œJun,โ€ identified as a high-value individual (HVI), during a tracking operation on August 30. The suspect had previously been arrested in June in connection with the recovery of approximately 215 grams of suspected shabu valued at โ‚ฑ1.462 million. After leaving police custody during the course of the earlier proceedings, he was continuously tracked until his recent arrest.

Meanwhile, a joint police operation in Tinglayan, Kalinga, led to the discovery of a ma*****na plantation containing approximately 3,000 fully grown ma*****na plants with an estimated standard drug price of โ‚ฑ6 million. No cultivator was arrested during the operation. The recovered plants were destroyed on site, while samples were retained for appropriate examination.

Chief, PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that every successful operation should translate into greater safety for communities.

We will keep working, tracking, and coordinating until those who threaten public safety are brought before the proper authorities,โ€ PGen Nartatez said.

The PNP will continue to pursue legitimate and evidence-based operations while ensuring that all police actions remain consistent with due process and the rights of every individual.

These continuing efforts embody the PNPโ€™s commitment to โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,โ€ delivering responsive police service and keeping communities safer through sustained, professional, and accountable law enforcement.

โ€œWe will continue to strengthen our presence where it matters mostโ€”on the roads, in communities, and at points where illegal goods may pass. Simple lang ang objective: kung may kahina-hinalang galaw, our personnel must be ready to respond properly, lawfully, and professionally.โ€

The operation forms part of the PNPโ€™s continuing efforts to enhance field operations and inter-unit coordination under its Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO). These efforts support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening law enforcement and protecting legitimate businesses and communities from activities that undermine public safety and lawful commerce.
