Official Statement: Executive Decision Regarding the Basketball Sportsfest 2026 Championship Match

The Organizing Committee of the Basketball Sportsfest 2026 Open Basketball League issues this official statement regarding the championship game involving Team Moog.

Because Team Moog chose to forfeit the ultimate championship match without fielding a single player, the Organizing Committee has made the final executive decision that their prize and podium placement are completely revoked. Furthermore, the cash prize intended for the team will be deposited back into the SK Mauswagon’s bank account.

Although this exact situation was not previously detailed in the league guidelines, a championship match represents the peak of the tournament's competitive spirit. Choosing not to field a team deprives the fans, organizers, and opponents of a fair final game. Prizes and titles in this league are strictly earned through active participation on the court, and funds will not be disbursed to a team that refuses to play.
