HEALTH AWARENESS! PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SORE EYES!

As part of the BEAT THE HEAT series related post for heat related illnesses this summer, The Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit RTC Misamis Oriental is urging everyone to adhere with the guidelines for first aid and prevention of sore eyes.

With the increasing number of recorded cases of sore eyes (conjunctivitis) CGNSSU-Misamis Oriental is reminding the public to be vigilant.

A total of ๐™๐™’๐™Š ๐™ƒ๐™๐™‰๐˜ฟ๐™๐™€๐˜ฟ ๐™๐™„๐™๐™๐™”-๐™๐™„๐™‘๐™€ (255) ๐™—๐™–๐™œ๐™จ ๐™ค๐™› ๐™—๐™ก๐™ค๐™ค๐™™ were successfully collected from valiant members of Coast Guard Non-Officer's Course Class 94 - 2022 โ€œMabitalakโ€.

This donation drive aims to thank the communityโ€™s unyielding support for the Philippine Coast Guard by means of giving blood to help those who are in need.

Moreover, NMMC and DOH X donated supplements (Vitamin C, Vitamin B Complex, and Ferrous sulfate + Folic Acid) to MEDFAS-MO for use of CGNOC Class 94-2022 Trainees. These additional supplements will provide additional energy, increase their immunity and aid in the over-all maintenance of their health during their continuous training activities.

Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit RTC Misamis Oriental, General Duty Nurse CG ENS NERBELYN H ABDUHALIM NC was invited to conduct a brief Health Teaching focused on Malnutrition and Proper Hygiene of children ages 5-10 from Barangay Mauswagon.

The said activity aims to engage the Coast Guard traineesโ€™ in social interaction with the community of Barangay Mauswagon and further strengthen the relationship of the Philippine Coast Guard with the Local Government Unit of Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental.

The Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit RTC Misamis Oriental, Coast Guard Medical First Aid Station - Regional Training Center Misamis Oriental (MEDFAS-MisOr) in partnership with Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), Department of Health Center for Health Development - Northern Mindanao and Rhu Laguindingan facilitated a mobile blood donation drive yesterday 22 February 2023 aboard Philippine Coast Guard Regional Training Center Misamis Oriental.

Said activity was participated by personnel from CGNS RTC Misamis Oriental, CGMEDFAS-MisOr, RTC Misamis Oriental and trainees from Coast Guard Non-Officer Course Class 94-2022 (Mabitalak) and they were imbued with the same intention: to save lives thru blood donation.

A total of ๐™๐™’๐™Š ๐™ƒ๐™๐™‰๐˜ฟ๐™๐™€๐˜ฟ ๐™๐™„๐™๐™๐™”-๐™๐™ƒ๐™๐™€๐™€ (253) bags of blood were successfully collected out of THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHT (308) participants.

This initiative is in response to the continuous need of our Regional Blood Banks for the benefit of those indigent patients and other stakeholders within the area of responsibility.

Said activity aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of all participants in rendering standard first aid, lifesaving techniques, proper use of AED and choking management which are necessary during immediate response to an emergency.
